In my opinion, it's really quite scary to think that we can't use a guy that would be considered our best left fielder since Manny Ramirez and would be our best left fielder for many years to come considering we have jack poop in the system.

I can look past a childish indescretion once in a while. Some players mature later than others. I'm willing to take the chance on Young. Hell! He's only 25 years old an not even in the prime of his baseball career. You really can't overlook the fact that he came close to winning a ROY AND an MVP in his short career.

As far as conditioning is concerned, he must be doing something right. He did trim 30 pounds and has gotten down to a svelte 200 pounds. But! What the hell do I know!?!?

it's a pleasant 105 degrees at gametime as Tribe takes on the Rangers. Tribe should be tough tonight with Grady and Travis both in the lineup to carry the offense. So much talent on the field that Matt LaPorta bats 9th. Fine defenisvely, too, with Duncan patrolling left.

What a brutal 3 week stretch!

It's quite obvious that this team is lefty-laden. We've got no balance in the lineup. We have some very good arms on the pitching staff. We need a lot of help from the right side of the plate.

The strikeout totals we have been generating over the past few years is unacceptible. This team is not good enough to be giving away outs at this pace. I really don't know where this help will come from.

Tough game to watch tonight. Not fun.

That's why I switched to the Red Sox, then the Reds, and now the Tigers-CWS

It'll be fun come "pitchers and catchers report."

My only motivation to watch the 2011 post season is to hope that Jhonny Peralta (and the Tigers) is/are humiliated in the way This Cleveland Fan deems appropriate.

:-)

Truly, I was making small talk with a maybe 30' ish kid I just met at a local Browns Bar this past Sunday.

We were quickly tripping over the history of Cleveland Sports I accepted he knew as he explained how he became A Browns Fan after being born and raised in Oregon, and now living in Northern California.

In our small talk I mentioned Jhonny Peralta with a follow up message I expected to be able to express "without retort."

But before I could get my Jhonny Peralta thought out, the kid (Brian), said I HATE him! He always SUCKED in the CLUTCH.....FOR US!

I bought him a couple of beers after a vigorous high five and some handshake thing I caught on to "to some degree" after the second time we decided such celebratory "handshake" might be gametime appropriate.

Gee Cali! I was thinking just the opposite! LOL!

Jhonny and Victor were the ultimate good guys that we've ever had in Cleveland. Both were squeaky clean. As you well know, I've always been a Jhonny Peralta fan and championed the idea of keeping Peralta at shortstop and moving Cabrera to second. Asdrubal was an excellent secondbaseman and as I posted at one time, thought he would be an all-star at that position.

I won't take my history back any further as that may jeopordize my new image. As you also well know, I championed a whole different look for that keystone combination.

As a unit, I really like the Tigers and I'll most likely be rooting for them throughout the post season. We have to bring some respect back to this division.

"Maybe Carlos Santana should foul a ball off his left shin all the time. It would be painful, but think of the rewards.

Santana, putting the final touches on his first full season in the big leagues, became the seventh player in franchise history to homer from both sides of the plate in the Indians' 10-4 loss to AL West-leading Texas on a hot Tuesday night at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

In the fourth inning, when the score was still close, Santana hit his first homer of the night, a 411-foot drive to left center. He did it right-handed against Texas lefty Matt Harrison (12-9, 3.56).

Santana next came to the plate in the sixth. He was still batting right-handed, but when he fouled a Harrison pitch off his left shin, it looked like he might end up in the emergency room. He went down and stayed down for several minutes. When he arose and stepped back into the batter's box, he lined a double to left center. He took third on Grady Sizemore's ground out and scored on a wild pitch by lefty Mike Gonzalez to cut the Rangers' lead to 4-3. "

"The Indians entered Tuesday night's game with their magic number to elimination at six (any combination of six Detroit victories or six Indians losses). Manager Manny Acta said that until MLB puts an X by the Indians' spot in the standings, he's going to play his best lineup -- especially against a contender like Texas. After the Indians are eliminated, Acta says he could start using some of his younger players such as Cord Phelps, Nick Hagadone and Josh Judy. "If you don't see our regulars out there every day, it's because a lot of them are completing their rehab in the big leagues," said Acta."

Yet another come from behind, 1-run win for the Tide. I guess that magic number just dropped to 1 this afternoon. Now I know what the opposition felt like in the '90's when we were doing all this magical stuff. Not a great feeling if you are not a home towner.
