As I write this Milwaukee is up on the Cubs 16-1. Last night Boston scored 20.

Mercy rule it is!!

15 run lead after 5 innings (or later) works for me. Sheesh often times they have position players pitching in that situation - and that's way stupider than a mercy rule.

Amed Rosario is getting a day off on Saturday against the Tigers.

Rosario has served as Cleveland's everyday shortstop since mid-May and has put together a solid .276/.316/.391 triple-slash line with six homers and 12 steals across 433 plate appearances. Andrés Giménez will start at shortstop in his place on Saturday night.

His pitches don't seem to have the same quality at this point - hitters are not fooled whatsoever.

You have to wonder if he fought his way back for the first half this season and now is out of gas. The smoke and mirrors have cleared.

With a roster of youngsters who need to be looked at it's time to cut him loose.

Stephen's first big chance could have been a disaster.

Quite a nice outing by Morgan, not a single homer and not a single run. If everyone's healthy next year he'll be a depth starter on call in Columbus unless they think his stuff works in the bullpen.

And Daniel Johnson came through with the big 2 run homer. Didn't watch the game unfold so I cannot confirm if he avoided dumb plays in the field but I know his defense did not directly lead to any runs.
