Yup, and we have good arms in the wings. Tyler Naquin was leading the league in OF assists for a while this year. Even with his injury he finished with 11, which kept him in top 5.

Zimmer has a good arm.

I dunno, I’m old fashioned and a traditionalist I know, but I come from the school where in the majors you hide your worst fielder in left.

I haven’t seen Reyes play the field, but just judging a book from its cover I would assume we’ll have better athletes with good arms to put in RF.

Oh for sure but Tito likes flexibility. He will want Reyes in the field at least part time.

He is still young and we are not talking Big Papi here. He can actually run the bases pretty well and is athletic for his size. I saw his score more than once on plays where big lugs would be held at 3B.

Sheesh, Reyes in LF and Puig in RF with our infield bats would be so imposing! And with the young pitcher influx added to Bieber/Clevinger and Kluber/Carrasco fully back our pitching staff speaks for itself

If he would do 2 years for $20 million I would do that for sure. Very max. He would have to be VERY motivated to return for that.

That's why it's unlikely in my view. He is at an age where he would want to cash in as much as possible...now.

Oh, and I doubt the Indians would offer that - even though it's below market value. They don't need 2 right fielders. Puig would have to offer the Tribe a crazy cheap deal (1 year at $10 mill?) for them to consider it.

I believe the Twins signed Nelson Cruz for this season a 1 year for $14 million. That's Cruz, who is a much better hitter than Puig and has had an incredible career. Total bargain, Cruz hit over .300 with 41 homers. :o

So go down from there.

They didn't do Brantley last year - so this one is pretty obvious.

Much more likely they repeat the Bauer process with another starting pitcher.

Certainly you would think they would let Kluber get his value back by pitching next season BUT if some team were to take a chance and pay full price for him then....you do it.

currently 47 on the 40 man roster including the 7 on the 60-day DL. They have to be added back sometime around the end of the World Series. Then subtract the free agents: Kluber, Puig, Kipnis, Otero, Clippard and Flaherty. That cuts the list down to 41. We sure as heck know that Danny Salazar will be nontendered. But I don't see any reason not to do the same with any and all of these pitchers, some of whom could be worth bringing back but all could be improved upon:
Cody Anderson, AJ Cole, Nick Goody, James Hoyt, Phil Maton; Tyler Olson. maybe not Hunter Wood since we actually traded someone for him and his 2019 ERA was under 3. Cimber is not necessarily any better than most of them.

Some other take-aways from today’s final meeting with the press ...

Indians aren’t shutting the door on a Kipnis return.

But Francona said something interesting ... that he told front office these players deserve a chance to to have a dogpile celebration. They’ve earned it. Will they go after a big bat this offseason, like a Rendon?

Puig really liked it in Cleveland, would be open to a return.

Indians want Reyes in OF next year. (And HB wants Bradley at DH next year)

Antonetti says they would like to keep Lindor in Cleveland his entire career, just haven’t been able to sign him to extension yet, but still trying.... (remember you heard it here first)

Jose says he is open to playing 2nd or 3rd next year, just don’t want to bounce back and forth.

Francona fired Atchison as bullpen coach. The rest of his staff will return next year. Says he wants a different skill set out there. Whatever that means.
