So I notice that Perez leaves the game; and that simultaneously Haase leaves the Columbus lineup [in fact removed in the middle of an at bat] meaning something was up.
Perez is being checked out today for possible concussion and a 7 day stay on the special DL.
Re: GameTime!™
23627Indians play early today. 1:00 pm EDT. Getaway day for Oakland, and I must say, good riddance.
Jefry Rodriguez on the mound.
Weird fact I heard during game the other day.
Indians have Jefry Rodriguez, but his first name is pronounced Yeff-ree.
Orioles Have Yefry Ramirez, but his first name is pronounced Jeff-ree
And our OF'er pronounces his name Mar-Teen
Too much rum down in central America methinks. Those folk can't talk right.

Re: GameTime!™
23628off to another lousy start, 3runs in off JRod in the first 2 innings.
Indians have solved their OF problems; Mike Freeman has the start today in left.

Re: GameTime!™
23629I like the dangerous look to our lineup: the middle of the order yesterday had CarGo and Ramirez, both with OPS below 600. With Gonzalez gone we shift Bauers into cleanup. And the two big run producing spots got chances in the first inning, today, with 2 on and one away and of course they did nothing.
Re: GameTime!™
23630Jose has actually been better with RISP than otherwise, hitting 289 with an OPS of 811 in those situations coming into today's game, but only two extra base hits in 47 such plate appearances.
With runners not in scoring position, Jose is 23 for 137, which puts him at 170. That's really quite terrible

Re: GameTime!™
23631Indians offense is in high gear today: 4 hits in 2 innings, two of them doubles. Team OPS for the first innings: 1000.
Re: GameTime!™
23632D'ja ever notice Bauers often waits and takes 2 strikes before he swings-then he swings and strikes out. MHO he needs to be more aggressive earlier in the count.
Re: GameTime!™
23633JRod looks awful today, in 3 innings he's walked 4, allowed 5 hits and 4 runs. We're going to start wearing out the bullpen. Cole and Otero and Olsen will be in work today, among others.
Re: GameTime!™
23634I think he should talk to Frankie about bulking up and getting a few more muscles.
Re: GameTime!™
23635Nolan Jones approach to hitting is described as something similar: takes a lot of pitches, which gets him deep into counts, resulting in many walks but also many strikeouts.
Re: GameTime!™
23637Jose contributed his 7th error to the cause leading to one of the 4 runs being unearned. He committed 11 errors in all of 2018. Glad to see he's not taking his offensive troubles into the field.
Re: GameTime!™
23638A's add another run in the 4th, hard to imagine the Indians can tally catch up from 5 runs behind.
Re: GameTime!™
23639In my opinion and experience in HS and College baseball playing when you have 2 strikes as a batter you are more likely to swing at bad pitches. Coaches also told me that. Now if you are a Ruthian type hitter you can take a lot more because the pitcher is scared but Bauers aint Ruthian yet.
Re: GameTime!™
23640does Harper do that? I know he both walks and strikes out plenty.
I see he's had 211 plate appearances and walked 35, struck out 64 times; add the 9 homers and he's put the ball inside the field of play less than 1/2 the time
