it of course took the top half of the lineup to get the runs: Lindor single, Brantley single,, Ramirez hit into a force but then stole 2nd, and then EE came through. When the bottom of the order bats is the time to go out for a hot dog, a beer, or a bathroom stop.

Matt Underwood talking that inning about pitchers pitching around guys, and lamented DiMaggio's hit streak, and how guys didn't walk him much during streak. Said it must have been because there was an unspoken rule about not walking a guy during a streak like that.

Well Matty, it might have had something to do also with the fact that he had Keller, Dickey, and Gordon hitting behind him. Keller isn't a big household name like the others but he had 33 homers that year. You just can't walk a guy every time when he has a lineup like that behind him.

It's the same after 5 innings now. Kipnis actually tripled with one out in the 4th but the dynamic pair of Perez and Naquin behind him both fanned.

We are up to 6 shutout innings. He's retired 9 straight since they got that hit against him.

I think he has 9 K now. He's fanned like 7 of last 10 or something crazy like that.
