Greg Allen - OF - Indians
Indians optioned OF Greg Allen.

The 25-year-old Allen is in a 1-for-33 (.030) slide at the plate, pulling his batting line down to .204/.248/.301 over 34 games. He should get another chance with the Indians before long.

Marc Rzepczynski - R - Indians
Indians signed LHP Marc Rzepczynski to a minor league contract; assigned him to Triple-A Columbus.

Rzepczynski was released by the Mariners earlier this month after posting a 9.39 ERA over 18 appearances this season. The 31-year-old southpaw has enjoyed some success in the past and makes for a worthy flier for Cleveland.

LOL, no I wouldn't waste my money. It was a shame we lost but the family had a good time anyway. Their first time in Cleveland.

Oddly enough the first time my wife had actually been to a loss. All the other games we've been to at other stadiums (or ST) they won.

Finally it's welcome back Jason Kipnis night. Hope he can keep this up - there's still time to turn his season around.

Also Perez with a key hit earlier, nice to see the bottom of the lineup come through again.

Bauer has turned himself into an ace. He may be a legit Cy Young contender if he keeps it up.

Trevor Bauer's 129 strikeouts through 71 team games are the most by an @Indians pitcher since Sam McDowell had 151 at this juncture in 1970. Worth noting: McDowell had already made 19 starts by then. Bauer has done so in just 15!

Trevor is right up there behind Verlander, Kluber, Severino and Cole; contending at present with Sale for the next ranking among AL pitchers. Statistically the categories he trails in are WHIP and Avg against where he's about 10th. He goes get the advantage over some of these guys of pitching against the AL Central a significant share of the time.

On a home run per pound basis, Ramirez holds a huge lead in the AL:

Trout with 23 homers but that's 10.2 pounds per home run
Ramirez is 7.5 pounds per homer
JD Martinez 10.0
Khris Davis 9.75
Machado 10.0
Betts 10.0
Nelson Cruz 12.8
Joey Gallo 13.0
Aaron Judge is a woeful 16 pounds per long ball. Weight-adjusted he turns out to be a pretty feeble hitter. way behind Lindor [12/1] too

Bottom of the fourth; nothing's changed. Sox have one hit. Corey's taking it easy, only 3 strikeouts. Should be another quiet day for the bullpen. Of course if any of them get called on besides Allen Ramirez or Perez, anything can go wrong as McAllister proved again yesterday,.
