What a crazy game today, and another epic fail by bullpen. Bauer leaves with 3-2 lead in 8th. By btm of 9 it was 8-3 Astros. We come back and tie it up in btm of 9.

Ok, now that was a miracle win. Credit to bullpen later on with 6 innings and 1 run.

Amazing homer with Alonso saving the game by tying in the 13th.

And then Greg Allen - of all people - with the walkoff in the 14th.

I have always liked Greg Allen. Don't dismiss this kid. We haven't seen his best yet cause he has been forced to come up before he was ready due to injuries. But I really think he is a proto type lead off guy. (In minors always got on base a lot, seen a lot of pitches, works counts, walks, and obviously speed. And as we just saw, a little pop too)

I agree with Jensen Lewis on post game though. The front office has to address this bullpen. We got lucky today. 99% of the time this game would end up like Thur and Fri did.

I was catching the game on my phone and when Bauer got pulled, I admit i stopped
looking. Checked in, down 8-3.

Bauer said after the game he was "grateful" Tito left him in. I think he pretty much permanently lobbies Tito that pitch count means nothing. He told Tito he felt good but said after the first batter he felt tired.

I was telling my wife that Allen was a Banjo hitter as he led off the 14th.

Allen had 7 home runs in back to back full seasons in minors. Also 27 and 28 doubles. 7 triples one year.

Not exactly Babe Ruth, but has some pop for an old fashioned lead off hitter type.
