We can thank the Twins manager [Molitor?] for that: he pulled Santana after 5; obviously he's the wild card starter vs. Severino. Now pitching Trevor Hildenburger. About as close a baseball team to one of my favorites: Tom Hilgendorf as you're going to find.

Kipnis had a nice shot opposite way first at bat that got caught, and a shot down the LF line opposite way that was just foul. He's starting to get locked in. I want him in the lineup. Obviously his numbers has suffered with the injuries this year. But When he's 100% he's a darn fine hitter. Just not crazy about this CF idea. We still have 6 or 7 days. Not too late to put everybody back where they belong.

Last Kipnis homer was August 18, but that's only about 33 at bats ago. He had just warmed up with 3 homers in the last 7 games before latest injury.
Before that he'd gone homerless from June 19 trough August 14. Injured during a portion of that time too but it was nearly 90 at bats.

Best No. 2 starter in baseball has 11 Ks and 1 walk in 7 innings against a largely AAA Twins lineup.

Well, he hit 23 homers last year. Had 1 homer in the ALDS, 1 in ALCS, and 2 in the World Series.

With the way the ball is juiced this year he may have hit 30.

But anyway ... Kipnis is a guy I want in the lineup when healthy. He just hasn't been able to stay in lineup long enough to really get locked in this year. But hopefully for October.

We're starting to get some nice production from our catchers just in time for postseason too.
