I like the way a few of our guys have rebounded this year, although they're still not our biggest prospects, Luigi Rodriguez, Dorsyss Paulino [at least since his promotion to Lynchburg] and Ronnie Rodriguez all have been hitting like the Top 10 prospects they used to be. Luigi was slowed mostly be injuries but he felt out of the Top 30 entirely; the other two were way down toward the bottom. All are younger than I'd have guessed, since they started stateside as teens:

R. Rod age 23 294/316/547 obviously doesn't walk, big power bat this year
L. Rod age 22 293/335/492 24 steals does some of everything offensively, but he's been stuck in LF with Zimmer and Frazier as teammates
Paulino age 20 while at Lake County for the third summer he was about the same OPS below 700 as far 2 go arounds, but
at Lynchburg: 325/385/575 small sample of 90 at bats

Merritt with 7 strong innings today. 3 hits and a run. Zimmer with 2 hits and a stolen base. Yandy with a homer again!

@tpaquette_IID: After hitting just hitting just 4 HR's in his 1st 177 career games #RubberDucks (3B) Yandy Diaz has 4 HR's over his last 10 games. #Indians

@tpaquette_IID: Akron #RubberDucks (3B) Yandy Diaz over his last 10 games:
13-39 9R 3(2B) 4HR 10RBI 5BB 1SB .333 AVG .391 OBP #Indians

Nellie to Akron! Pretty good for a 21 year old; leaves the Carolina League with an 852 OPS.
Aeros filling up with the impressive Lynchburg talent after going prospect-less much of the season.

And Yandy has decided to prove me wrong: he's suddenly a power hitter.

Go Ducks!

Re: Minor Matters

I don't think I posted the article but did read recently that Yandy is purposely trying to hit for more power at the expense of contact.

But he still has 5 walks, a .333 BA, and .391 OBP to go with his 3 doubles & 4 homers the last 10 games. So don't guess he is sacrificing much by way of contact and getting on base.
