Now it's the 8th so here comes Shaw.

My father always hated this business of pulling a reliever who did his job successfully. He said it looked the manager was trying to find someone who'd fail.

Of course he was from the "old days" when starters were expected to finish what they starters, and bullpens were 4 or 5 men at most deep not 8 or more like Tito uses.

Brantley natch with an RBI hit, an RBI sac fly for the first 2 scores. Then Kuroda walked Gomes to force in our 3rd run.
And as I type Gomes singles in number 4. His play has been up to expectations, after that early bought with soaring heaves to second.

Carrasco has it in him to be a solid starter, much more talented than Tomlin or House or probably McAllister. He's gotten past hitting guys and getting suspended. His April work as a starter was ineffective. Maybe the three months of excellent relief was abetted by some successful coaching.

Chisenhall who is once again the Chisenhall of old fanned to end the inning. Santana fanned in the middle with 2 on; he's back into a funk; for 10 days of April hitting 167.
They said he quit throwing the slider and the curve becuase he didn't have good command of them, intsead he's throwing some kind of combo of them both....a "slurve"

Idk just what they said, and whatever he's throwing he did a great job today.

Kipnis had a great day today, scored 3 of the 4 runs....Two of the Brantly RBI's. Nice to see him getting on base at the leadoff spot.

Guess partying in NYC last night wasn't detrimental to his play today.

That was the first extra base hit they had the whole game.

Ramirez did a good job in the 2 hole today........couple nice sac bunts to move Kipnis to scoring position for Brantley.

Doesn't look like we are going to add any more in the top of the ninth.

That New York Yankee baseball genius and master of diplomacy, Suzyn Waldman, suggested during today's radio broadcast that the level of interest in a game between Cleveland and Arizona would be such that perhaps 5 people would show up.

I really don't understand why she's allowed to have anything to do with MLB. She is just plain horrible.
