When I saw Hagadone up close and personal for 18 innings by the pen in Oakland, I was impressed with his focus on the game and workmanship. I bet he preps well for the teams he might face.
Nice to see lots of folks showing up here now that we are 17-11 and in First Place with pieces that do not seem like a fluke.
Today I looked at my iPhone from someplace between Indio CA and Deming NM and saw we were ahead 2-1 in the late innings. I was shocked to check later and see a final posted of 8-6. Being on the road I had missed or forgotten we had a day-night doubleheader today.
I'm in the New Mexico desert less than 30 miles from the border with Mexico. We've seen 25 times more Border Patrol agents today than Highway Patrol guys. That was good. I was doing 80-85 most of the day. That's only 5-10 miles over the limit in most places out here though.
My wife is driving her car with me following my truck with our 15 year old dog beside me in the cab. My wife has been cross country before, but has never solo driven the distance....especially a full three thousand miles.
The dog had previously never been anywhere but the Santa Cruz mountains where she was whelped, or Alameda County in our former little part of California.
I feel a bit like the Billy Crystal character in City Slickers bringing in the herd. My resolute goal for this trip is to get this great dog at least one run on a Florida beach.
Tomorrow night I expect to have us within a stone's throw of San Antonio, one direction or another......dependent upon the availability of dog friendly motels that also have a free breakfast and workout facility. I do have to please my wife AND the dog.
I'm personally looking forward to stopping in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana for some crawdads.
I know a place with an outdoor picnic area that is dog friendly.
Let's keep this fun Tribe Time going.
Jhonny.....Johnny....Damon may not be producing big at the plate yet, but our team sure seems to have played winning baseball since it was announced we were signing him.

7627Very impressive that we can hold two tight leads with Perez and Pestano taking deserved days off. Good work Nick and Tony.
Re: GameTime!™
7628That Konerko shot (correction - Flowers) was a bit un-nerving. When I saw Konerko in the on deck circle and Sipp still on the mound, my armchair was getting a workout. Sipp did pitch around Konerko and walked him to get to Flowers. Flowers nailed it but it was just foul deeeeeep onto the homerun porch. Gotta hand it to Acta, he's been doing a very nice balancing act between handling the pitching staff and the lineup card.

7632When you look at this lineup and realize that Shelley Duncan is your third best right handed hitter after Cabrera and Santana, you gotta wonder how we are doing so well. I don't think we can last the entire season with such weak hitting from the right side. With Cunningham, Duncan, Donald, and Marson, it's going to be tough sledding in my opinion.

7634Josh Hamilton homered in his first two at-bats, two-run shots in the first and third, giving him 12 on the season. I've really gotta wonder just how good Hamilton could have been without all the problems he's had.
