Hence my comment, "crap!"Tribe Fan in SC/Cali wrote:Kotchman couldn't hit a fly ball, and Kipnis grounded out weakly.
It's a bitch to strand the winning runner at 3rd when he got there with one out.
It's a bitch to have the lead off runner at 2nd not score.

6812At the very least, have Pestano warmed up, too, and watch how Perez does.Charlie T. wrote:J.R. wrote:I don't like the decision to take out Masterson, especially to put in Perez, who saw limited action in ST.
I can see not going for the complete game on Opening Day--my guess is that rarely happens anymore. But the point about Perez is a solid one, leaving aside that he shouldn't have been guaranteed the closer role anyway coming off a mediocre 2011.
This team can't afford to throw away starts like Masterson had today. And if memory serves, didn't we have even more trouble scoring in extra innings a year ago than in most situations?

6813On the closer move, Charlie Manuel pulled Halladay out today after 92 pitches through 8. Papelbon worked the 9th to preserve a 1-0 win

6817I got home and put the game on just in time to watch them tie it up

6818I was at a hotel bar in Copley Square in Boston when Lloyd made that remark. That trip was also my first visit to Fenway.J.R. wrote:"I know John Papelbon, John Papelbon is my friend. Where is "home" at present? Still in Tennessee or NC?

6821So it's YOUR fault!Baron wrote:I got home and put the game on just in time to watch them tie it up
Re: GameTime!™
6822With tomorrow being a rare non travel off day, I would have let Pestano pitch the 11th. He was at 25 pitches.

Re: GameTime!™
6823Yep I guess it's my fault.
I am still in NC....getting "Home" to Tennessee once every month or so. Retirement date is set at Feb 2013 but with Terminal Leave and stuff I should be done Dec 21st.
I'm currently taking an EMT course which once I get certified will transfer seamlessly to TN. Can't go EMT-I or Paramedic though they won't transfer.
Figure I'll be a Fireman when I grow up.....at least for a while till I think of something else I wanna do.

I know firemen in some cities can make pretty good bucks with the overtime structure. In San Jose I heard near 90K+ is attainable. A premium is paid for those with degrees.
