What did Detroit give up for Fister?
It looks like we gave away the farm for a #5 pitcher.

It HAS been a good season. We've been on a thrill ride of playoff hope since mid April, and THAT'S way more than I or anyone else here expected in February of 2011.
The nicks and dings heightened the wall for us.
BTW, it is NOT over. But we need need to win tomorrow.

I've spent more time than I care in Minneapolis in January's, and hated Detroit on my very first visit at the age of 9 and every visit thereafter in my life.
Those are two places that I definitely prefer Northeastern Ohio to over for a place to enjoy life as I know and appreciate it.

Re: GameTime!™
6034Are you talking about the guy that gave up how many hits in 7 innings ? That would be 2. Against the hottest hitting team in baseball. Fister was pitching against the Columbus Clippers.husker wrote:What did Detroit give up for Fister?

6037Indians activated OF Trevor Crowe from the 60-day disabled list.
Crowe underwent shoulder surgery in March and hasn't played in the major leagues this season. The 27-year-old batted .263 (10-for-38) with two homers, three doubles and a triple over 11 minor league rehab games between the AZL Indians and Triple-A Columbus. He'll serve as a reserve outfielder down the stretch.

Jerad Head - OF - Indians
Indians designated OF Jerad Head for assignment.
He was cleared to make room for Trevor Crowe on the 40-man roster. Head, who was called up from the minors in late-August, went 2-for-23 (.087) with five strikeouts during his brief time with Indians.

6038Jason Kipnis is not in the Indians' starting lineup Wednesday afternoon against the Tigers.
It's a scheduled day off for Kipnis, who went 1-for-3 with a strikeout in his return from the disabled list Tuesday. The Indians are simply easing him back into the lineup. Jason Donald will start at second base Wednesday and bat seventh against right-hander Justin Verlander.

Re: GameTime!™
6042Shelley Duncan goes long ball on Verlander and the Tribe has a 2-0 lead in the 2nd.
Re: GameTime!™
6043Jiminez is not a No. 5, although not looking like the mighty No. 1 we hope we dealt for. But I am very happy with Masterson and Jiminez at the top of the rotation. Tomlin is a dogged No. 3 or 4. Carmona actually had a pretty long pretty strong stretch but could be counted to blow up when we really needed him. Huff is probably solid for the back of the rotation. Will miss Carrasco; he has more pure talent than Gomez. I'd be more comfortable dumping Carmona for Carrasco than for Gomez. We may be stuck with Fausto for 2012, which means: Masterson-Jiminez-Tomlin-Carmona-Huff. Potentially very good; potentially just average (Tomlin is the type of pitcher who will always be suspectible to a drop off. Not so hard throwers like Sowers and Laffey had their solid first seasons, too.)
Re: GameTime!™
6044Shelley Duncan is still trying as he hits another 2 run homer. 4-2 tribe in the fifth. If Masterson gives up another run in the next 2 innings is he still the ace ? Yeah, I know just as silly as whining about Jiminez.
Re: GameTime!™
6045Things not looking good in the top of the 7th for the Tribe. Bases loaded no outs for the Tigers.
