Still at the library with about 15 minutes left then a 50 mile trip to Rockford and the ol'e camping grounds. Should get in about 12:30 or so if the construction workers co-operate. Up at 4:30 am and on the river by 5:00 am hopefully. I have a 40 mile kayaking/fishing trip planned. Couldn't get anyone to join me. Wimps! The weather man guarantees some great weather for the weekend though. Thank you very much!

My thoughts will be with all you east coast folks! Take care! Take cover! Be safe!

Bring home a sweep!

Hope you had a great time at the ol'e ballyard JR!

It was like old times at the Jake tonight! Huge crowd, Jim Thome, and a win! Fans were on their feet for every Thome AB, and cheered all his outs! Proves that this town is hungry for the past "Era of Chmpions!"

Great outing by Ubaldo, too. Should show the critics of the trade that he is not "damaged goods."

Baron:

I have an uncle who is a former marine living in North Carolina as well. (Roy Spencer is his name, in case you know him)

He called in to the family and let everyone know he was safe. He lost the steps to his porch, an out building, and some trees on his property, but that is it.

Hopefully you and yours will be as lucky.

I started to send my old buddy Rusty some well wishes but then I remembered he is far too ornery to have trouble. One of these days when a nuclear disaster destroys the earth I guarantee you Rusty, Keith Richards, and some coackroaches will still be around to replenish the population. I just don't know who will start loving on the cockroaches first. .... If Cali is still around I'd put 10 bucks on him.

Been in the woods all day------- golf course. Club championship.

Gusts up to 40+ here but no rain at all. Did blow my hat off numerous times. There was only a 10% chance of rain here. Probably less then 160 miles from your uncle.

Certainly the skies have looked like the "Wizard of Oz" all day.

Not a fan of any type of "roaches". But if I did survive that nuclear thing I would be looking for the guy with the "badass gunslinger" tattoo on his leg. (Reference from Browns board)

If I had not been golfing I would have been here.

Cleveland Slut Walk Tomorow
POSTED BY KYLE SWENSON ON FRI, AUG 26, 2011 AT 3:19 PM

If some of you haven’t got a big X marked on the calendar for tomorrow, we’ll just go ahead and remind you that this Saturday is Cleveland’s inaugural Slut Walk. As we first reported at the beginning of the month, the walking-talking feminist exhibition is all about taking back the offending word and sending a message about sexual assault.

“We have a problem with the idea that you deserve somehow less respect if you’re dressed in what is considered slutty clothes, whatever that means,” event organizer Casey Schroeder told Scene. “This is about demanding respect, safety, and fair treatment regardless of the way that we’re dressed.”

For the details, we suggest you aim your browser over to the event's official web site.
