Totally disagree with that. When you see some of the guys on the market (Jamie Carroll is eerily similar to OC), then you realize teams like guys who can play multiple positions, field their position, and provide some key hits.

That's OC.

I still think Orlando Cabrera is the glue to the 2011 Cleveland Indians and his presence has been a major reason for the success to date. He's a veteran who has been able to go about every day when Hafner, Sizemore and Choo have not.

Cabrera has made winners of nearly every team he has played for. He has actually reached the post-season for five different teams throughout his career, and he earned a World Series championship with the Red Sox in 2004.

Shouldn't there be some demand for the veteran leadership that we like from OC? Again the biggest (only?) downside with Kipnis is that we will tilt even more to the left with him in the lineup.

If righties can hit righties, why can't lefties hit lefties?

I hope the Tribe takes a look at Carlos Lee. Carmona for Lee is a start....

Houston would have to throw a ton of money with Carlos Lee to get the tribe interested at all. Probably still owed about 8 million this season plus is a major defensive liability.

Give me a Lofton for Justice type of trade, bold, splashy, something that says we care. Sizemore and Carmona for Pence!

That should do it!

Aubrey (Houston)

If you're the Astros, do you trade Pence? If so, what's a fair price to expect back?

Klaw (1:19 PM)

I think you have to shop him, but the problem is that he's going to get really expensive next season - could be $22-23 million over the next two years, because he was a super-two guy in 2010. I like Pence quite a bit, but if he's hitting .280 as he did the last two years (with the same secondary skills) those salaries are high - and they're not fixed by a long-term contract.

Klaw (1:20 PM)

Pence makes $6.9 million this year. If he hits .320 all year with 20-25 HR, he'll probably jump to eight digits.

Is Kipnis ready defensively to take over the everyday 2b job? Cabrera's grave grows deeper by the day

Klaw (1:56 PM)

I don't think you can argue Kipnis is going to get better at 2b. He's as ready now as he's going to be.

When was the last real baseball trade? 2 semi young veterans traded for each other to help both teams. Cant remember one in the past decade.

Buster Olney tweets that the Tigers are 'aggressively' pursuing 'high end' arms.

Tribe better get a bat.

Hunter Pence will likely stay in Houston unless the Astros are “overwhelmed,” according to Olney.

OC can be the glue from the bench.
