Again, I agree with you HB. But he played 36 games last year and 36 games as a backup to Perez could be fine.

I am not sure why we should expect Haase to be ahead of Mejia as the starter for the Clippers. Either Eric backs up Francisco or stays at Akron to get the bulk of the work behind the plate, although he's proven he can hit AA pitching he doesn't really have a lot of games in the field.

The Indians like most teams recycle AAA catchers pretty regularly. They signed a guy named jack Murphy and invited him to camp [he's already had a stadium named for him until it was retitled in honor of a credit union]. He's a 29 year old who has been in nearly every other organization by this stage of his career. He might wind up backing up Haase in Akron and Hanigan backing up -- and as a 37 year old perhaps also serving as a personal coach--- to Mejia in Columbus. Or some such arrangement.

I am really upset that we didnt sign Bartolo Fat Colon. He could have brought his friend Flip flop ie Enrique Wilson and maybe his other friend Manny Ramirez with him

Not sure Mejia, as a catcher, is in their plans. They were willing to trade him. They have him playing different positions in the off season. Signing a 37 year old catcher?

Bat is great but can he make pitchers better?

Might be worth more in a trade?

Sad news from Goodyear this morning. Tito Francona, father of Indians manager Terry Francona, and a veteran of 15 big league seasons (six with Cleveland), has passed away. He was 84.

Awww.

But as a person who has had this experience (and many of us has) you never know - at times it can be a blessing for all. Never easy but at the same time no one wants suffering.

Best wishes for the Francona family.
