I'm going to figure out who's who on the Pirates and follow an interesting team. I've only heard of McCutcheon and Alvarez and Karstens.

2-1 us, one on and no outs in our 8th.

Nice!

Kipnis with a perfect bunt with runners on 1st and 2nd!

Everybody safe, and bases juiced!

Brantley hit!

Choo chugs in, and it's 3-1 with the bases still juiced!

Santana and Hafner bring spikes to the plate and do not move the rally along.

Weak ground ball for Santana that results in a force out at the plate, and a strikeout for Hafner after being gifted a 3-0 count in a situation that called for pitched strikes.

Our Alaskan due up, but Baltimore goes to the pen.

Bases still loaded with Indians, and two outs.

Doris Day or somebody in pitching for The Birds.

Cunningham battles, and now a 2-2 count....and a pop up.

Santana, Hafner and Cunningham gift Chris Perez a save opportunity.

Chris Perez with an opportunity to get a season save to match his age.

Tribe announcers note there is a rumor The San Francisco Giants are interested in trading for Chris Perez.

Perez gets out #1.

Perez gets a K for out #2.

3rd batter fouling many off after a quick two strike count......10 pitches thus far in this AB....and now 11.....

And Perez gets a ground out for out #3.

He earns his 27th save.

We pick up a 1/2 game on Detroit and now are an even 4 out and an even 48-48.

"48" is a good number for Cleveland Indians Baseball.

I'll likely tune in to the Mariners-Yankees game in a bit.

Ichiro will be switching to pin stripes in this one, and I'm sure his countrymen will all be tuning in as well. When Ichiro came to San Francisco or Oakland, people flew in from Japan in large numbers to see him. Baseball fans in Japan are certainly abuzz with Ichiro Suzuki being a member of the storied New York Yankees.

Interesting team here. The corner position players (conventionally, the thumpers) batting 1-7-8-9 in the line-up, and the players up the middle (where defense matters more, or so they say) batting 2-3-4-5.

The New York HOGS get another player for very little. Yankees even got money in the deal-like they really need it.

Not sure if Ichiro can contribute much offensively any more, but a good solid OF will be useful for another team that is surprisingly weak in corner OFs

I think when Ichiro gets a taste of that short porch and the prevailing tailwind at Yankee Stadium his move to double digit HR's will be swift.

I followed CALI's lead, and tuned into the Skankee broadcast on WCBS last night. Ichiro got a standing O at the Kingdome, er, Safeco Field. And he promptly hit a single, then stole second. He also caught the last out of the game.
