Tribe ties it at 2 on LaPorta's double...

Archie getting on LaPorta's butt for not taking the infield pop that Santana dropped ... but time was when it was the pitcher's job to make the assignment. Has that changed?

Tigers go up 3-2 in the 8th after Acta gets greedy and tries to squeeze another inning out of Masterson.

The Tribe's bats reply with three runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 5-3 lead into the 9th.

This series could define the rest of the season for the Tigers. They came to Cleveland desperately needing some wins and not only got swept but led in all three games and could not hold the lead including losing two games on the last at bat and losing the third game after retaking taking the lead late, coughing it up, and then rallying in the ninth with the tying run on third, but they just couldn't get it done. This has got to be demoralizing...

You almost get the feeling that we toyed with the Kittens in this last game. We let them get the lead early just to tie it up. Then we let them score a run late just to take the lead in the bottom half of the same inning. Almost like the team got together before the start of the 8th inning and said, "Hey, let's let them score a run, just so they can get their hopes up." Then of course we toyed with them a little more in the 9th - stringing them along before finally slamming the coffin shut.

That's the second time Acta has pushed a starting pitcher clearly past the breaking point. Todays' decision blew up in his face, but he ultimately got away with it.

Masterson has done a great job this season learning how to effectively pitch to lefties. Plus he never gives an inch to anyone on the mound. I loved his retaliation plunking of Santiago.

Little justice to the Stiff getting credit for the win.

Shame on the fans for the paltry turnout.

Team probably needs some hype from ESPN to awake some of the masses. Spoon fed, but keep the bibs out.

With the pen worn out I can understand Acta trying to get another inning out of Masterson.

Other reasons this series must be totally demoralizing for the Kittens - Hafner was on the shelf the entire series and they were facing our #6 and #7 starters, including a kid who was making his first major league start. Talk about a situation where you go into it with the expectation that you can take two out of three and possibly get the sweep. Instead they got swept...

WOW!!! Great to see the Tribe doing so well and surprising everybody! They are here at the end of the month. I hope to attend a game or two. I just hope both the Tribe and the Rays keep up their winning ways ....

I've never been off of it completely ... It is just much easier and less expensive to follow the local team!!
