Cespedes with homer #12, a 2-run shot in the first to give the A's a 2-0 lead over the Yankees. He's good! He picked on a slow curve and sent it waaaay over the wall in left center. He's making Oakland Stadium look like a bandbox.

Manny Ramirez ?!?!?! Why not? Coming back home might be the spark he needs!

Not a lot of options out there.
C'mon, even kenm says we don't need Manny now.

Joe, do you have a source at the State Department for your Hernandez information?

Roberto Hernandez Situation Progressing, According To Report

Jul 20 12:06p

by Matt Brigidi

Read More: Cleveland Indians, Miami Marlins

The Cleveland Indians are hopeful that right-handed pitcher Roberto Hernandez will be receiving a new visa, which would allow him to return to the United States, according to a report from MLB.com's Jordan Bastian.

Hernandez was arrested in the Dominican Republic in Jan. for using the false name Fausto Carmona.

Via MLB.com:

"Things are moving forward," said a person with knowledge of the situation. "It's looking a lot better right now."

The Indians have actively been trying to help bring Hernandez back to the country by petitioning the state department and hiring the services of visa expert, Stephen Payne.

With the visa issue on the up-swing, the only issue remaining is a possible suspension from the MLB. In a similar case, Miami Marlins pitcher Juan Carlos Oviedo received an eight-week suspension from the league. However, the Indians are hopeful that Hernandez won't meet the same fate.

"Our understanding at this point," Antonetti said last month, "is that, because he's restructured his contract, there won't be an additional suspension required. That could change, but that's the guidance we've been given at this point. There are just aren't any absolutes."

I guess we can forget about my Plan "B"

At the same time Guerrero confirmed his intention to participate with the Tigers in the Dominican championships for the winter 2012-2013 and confessed that he has abandoned the idea of being active again in the majors, but ruled out going to any other circuit, such as Japan.

Time to entertain "C" ?!?!

Derek Lowe needs a mystery injury and some time on the DL to refuel.

Hard to imaging anyone fading faster than Lowe.

That was a horrible game. Boring as helll. Nothing to cheer for. These guys couldn't hit their way out of a wet paper bag!!!!! The only reason there were people in the stands was the fireworks show. It was awesome!

They've had 70,000 in attendance the last two days to watch a do-nothing team play out the string. Sad.

The problem with Lowe is that he probably has zero market value.

Chris Perez should have been pleased by the crowds.

And another good crowd today. Just the Indians' luck to play this badly (and this boringly) before these kinds of crowds.

Their recent play, and Browns training camp opening in a few days, ensures two months of obscurity ahead.

Win tomorrow in the rare four game series ending on a Monday.

Sweep Detroit.

Heck, just take the Detroit series.

Some mix of any of the above and we are likely back to 3 or less out.

The Tribe seems to suck at daytime hitting on Sundays for a long long time, at least in my memories back deep into the Wedge-Shapiro years.

I loved the years with Albert Belle and Jim Thome and Manny et al, when we were at risk of blowing up the scoreboard on Sundays. Or at least giving it some serious juice.
