All of our bats would need to get hot for the remainder of the season.

Good to see Cabrera break out today. He was looking pretty hopeless up to this game.

So of course after I give up the season the Tribe rallies for a surprising win. I should do more often and perhaps they will respond in kind.

aside from Rogers, Pestano and Perez....every other releiver suck
Smith's OK, too. Accardo's not bad but only want him for mopup. Lefties are the problem.

Our Alaskan playing center today almost had a miscue with Choo on a fly ball to deep right center.

Fortunately they worked it out.

This Tampa pitcher is no hitting us in the 4th.

Price is right, and leads 1-0,

We've now been no hit through four innings. Our biggest risk is that Luke Scott has a home run for Tampa's only run, and Joez will remind us we had him before the Jeriome Robertson trade years ago.

Super D by Jimenez!

Tags out the runner at the plate on the squeeze!!

Not sure I've ever seen that play by a pitcher before.

Santana is continuing to do well at the plate today. He's worked Price for two walks and is our only guy to reach base thus far.

And Lopez singles for our first hit of the day.

1st and 2nd and no outs for us.

We try to make something happen with a one out double steal attempt, but Santana is thrown out barely at 3rd. Next pitch was wild, so if he would have made 3rd it would now be a 1-1 game.

Marson makes Price work, and works a walk to put runners at the corners and two down for our Alaskan center fielder.

Price now into the 80's on pitch count.

Solid but lazy fly to Cunningham's center field Tampa counterpart ends our inning.

Solid out is about the best we can hope for from Cunningham.

We can't complain we're being stopped by a second rate pitcher today.

Ubaldo gets a twofer.

Nails the batter Jennings and then the ball deflects and nails the umpire on the mask bringing out the trainers for both. Ump getting the spot concussion test, but elects to stay in the game.

6-0 final. 2 Tribe hits.

Good news: only 3 LOB. Another shutout inning for Accardo.

It's like hitting a brick wall when the Tribe runs into a good left-handed pitcher.

Price was priceless.

I guess it's better to lose 6-0 than 1-0.

We did split the series.

Boston has two on and one out in the bottom of the 9th, trailing the White Sox 1-0.

And Cody Ross gets a walk off 3 run dinger to win it for Boston allowing us to keep pace at 3 games out.

It's going to be pretty difficult for the Sox to hang in there with, what is it, eleven rookies on the 25 man roster? I'm surprised they've hung in there this long.

I'm interested in seeing how Cody Allen works out. He should be an upgrade to Scott Barnes. Rogers appears to be working out well and Accardo seems to be coming along.

Roberto Hernandez will be a welcome addition. In my opinion, we should be seeing Roberto in an Indian uniform within the next week or two.

The Padres are now planning to try to extend veteran stars Carlos Quentin and Huston Street with new long-term deals and are likely to make a push to do sometime this month, before the July 31 trade deadline. Both players have been mentioned prominently as trade candidates, but both are said to have indicated a desire to stay in San Diego, if possible.

The Mets, Giants and White Sox are among teams believed to have shown interest in Street. As was reported here first, the Reds, Indians, Pirates and many others have called about Quentin.

I hope management has a Plan "B" up their sleeves!

Plan "B":

I'd take a chance on Vladimir Guerrero if he's willing to give us the same deal he gave Toronto.

Plan "C":

Manny Ramirez ?!?!?! Why not? Coming back home might be the spark he needs!

Not a lot of options out there.
