Well I still forgot to post the stats for Marabell:

24 yr old RH spent the first couple weeks in extended spring training. In 10 games for Akron: 281/439/438 9 walks and 10 K 1/1 in steals

Other info from Saturday games:

Columbus: Chang and Haase each with a pair of hits. Haase also drew a walk. Greg Allen drew a pair of walks. Frankie with a single, but he's only hitting 190 and 136 in his last 10 games. Yandy 2 singles and a walk: 279/412/338. 4 doubles are his extra base hit total.

Allen leads all our minor leaguers with an OPS of 922 due to drawing 10 walks in 61 total AB and amassing 8 doubles among his 15 hits Also 4/4 in steals.

Chang's last 10 games: 34-4-15-8 5 2B 1 HR 441/486/676 [thank you Siri for doing quick math for me]

Posted on the Akron and Lynchburg games yesterday. Noting that after Longo hit his double and triple yesterday, he's on phase 3 of his April:

started out 2-16 with a double
since then has a 13 game hitting streak,
mostly 1 hit a game for 10 of those, totaled 12-44 with 3 doubles
last 3 days it's Mitch 2017 again: 7 for 13 with 2 doubles and a triple
Whether he can make it to the majors without developing a HR swing is questionable; he has hit 5 HR in 471 total at bats.
He also seems to be most often in LF; sometimes RF

Meanwhile Capel seems to be another guy being asked to work on pitch selection at the expense of power. Yesterday's homer was his 2nd; he hit 22 in 2017, His on base pct is up 066 while slugging is just about the same although his batting average is 70 points higher. Steal % dramatically improved.

in 2017 his power also started slowly, just one homer in April but everything else was bad in April too. His line was 184/271/276

For Lake County, Hillman settled down after his sloppy start, finished going 6-5-4-3-2-7

Nolan Jones walked; our No. 4 prospect is hitting 175/327/350
Will Benson hitless dropped below 200 but his OPS is still 814.
Ernie Clement with a pair of hits, one his 4th doubled. Overall he's at 325

Captains registered 16 strikeouts for the day. Opposing starter was Brendan McKay, a No. 1 draft choice last year, who's trying an Ohtani in the Midwest League as a first baseman/pitcher. 9 K for him in 5 innings. Cool-named reliever Phoenix Sanders with an ERA of zero and K/IP of 16/11 struck out 3 more and the closer got another 4 in his 2 innings.

1st box score I've noticed Chang played 3rd, as he did a lot in spring training. Mike Papi with HR #1 and single, he's actually hitting .281. Mejia singled; Chang walked.
Alex Ogando 5 6 2 2 2 2 . Shutoff relief by Marshall now 0.84 and Taylor now 3.48 and Milbrath 0.00 [in his second AAA game]. Might need to bring someone up with the bullpen being overused.

Civale has been somewhat inconsistent, but he was at the top of his game today: 7 shutout 1-hit innings, 7 K no walks. 2.22. 4 walks in 28 IP.
Is Mitch Brown actually putting it together this season? He's pitched 9 2/3 scoreless 2 hit innings walking 3 and struck out 12.
Krieger, Castro and Tom each 2 singles. Bradley single and a walk Bobby's walk rate is the same as last season; his' K's are up from 23% to 31%

Nice work by Hentges too although his relievers gave it away; 5 2/3 6 1 1 1 5 2.13
Krauth OK, 1 run in 1 2/3, 3K 0.63 23 K in 14 1/3 Innings
Capel with another pair of hits; a walk; a steal, but a caught stealing, too. [325] And threw out a runner at home
Collins singled and doubled and walked. [242]

Gregori Vazquez not so hot: 4 7 4 4 2 2 2.57
Clement double and walk. Benson single. Jones single. Wade walk

I've been tied up with NFL draft and NBA playoffs. Playing a little catch up. Some of this info is couple days old so not sure stats will be exact same.

.

Indians Prospective @indiansPro

Lake County Captains LHP Kyle Nelson has not allowed an Earned Run over his last 12 games dating back to last year:
- 22(IP) 12H 1R 0ER 2BB 34SO 0.00 ERA 13.91 (SO/9)

Akron RubberDucks pitching staff currently has the 2nd best team ERA at 2.32 in all minor league baseball. Akron only trails the Buies Creek Astros in the Carolina League who have an absurd 1.83 team ERA.

RubberDucks starting rotation 1-4

Columbus Clippers RHP Adam Plutko over his last 4 starts: - 25.2(IP) 12H 4R 4ER 4BB 22SO 1.59 ERA Plutko after a disapointing 2017 season had off-season hip surgery and looks like he's getting back to his old form.

(OK, this is looking better now)
Lynchburg Hillcats OF Mitch Longo during his current 13 game hitting streak:
19-57 7R 5(2B) 1(3B) 5RBI 2BB 2SB .333 AVG .350 OBP

Plutko has apparently earned himself a spot start with the Indians for Thursday doubleheader. There's really no competition since Merritt hasn't started rehab, Morimando has not pitched well, and there's no one else! It just so happens to be Plutko's normal turn too.

Longo's getting his average back up to impressive levels, but he needs to develop some power as a corner outfielder.

We go get play in the Hot Prospects List

16. Greg Allen, OF, Indians
Team: Triple-A Columbus (International) Age: 25
Why He’s Here: .412/.600/.647 (7-for-17), 6 R, 4 2B, 1 RBI, 4 BB, 3 SO.

The Scoop: Allen has largely been a defensive replacement/pinch runner at the big league level so far, but the speedy switch-hitter keeps showing what he can do with regular at-bats at Triple-A. Allen knows he’s best as a table-setter and has done extremely well fulfilling that role this year. His .464 on-base percentage has been helped by an unreal seven hit-by-pitches in just 16 games. Allen has always been a ball magnet, but he’s stepping it up a notch this year [I like the doubles totals, too, and the walks]

Conner Capel had a very steady solid April but no one week was no impressive to make the Hot Prospect list. But I'll take steady. This past week:

21-5-7-5 one double, one homer 2 steals in 3 tries. 3 walks, 5 strikeouts 333/387/524

BA has eliminated the weekly hot prospect chat so no ability to talk about this year's developing players like Morgan or Garza or Capel or Wade. Maybe they're on twitter or some service I don't use.

Francisco Mejia's start is quite a disappointment. He's quite obviously NOT ready to assume a big league role yet.

CLE AA Bradley, Bobby 1B 4 0 0 0 .127 and our No. 3 prospect looks terrible too
CLE AA Castro, Willi SS 4 0 0 0 .205
CLE AA Krieger, Tyler 2B 4 1 1 0 .241
CLE AA Mathias, Mark DH 4 1 2 1 .288
CLE AAA Allen, Greg CF 4 0 0 0 .268
CLE AAA Chang, Yu SS 3 0 0 0 .271
CLE AAA Haase, Eric C 3 0 1 1 .293 BB (9) is HE our catcher of the future?
CLE AAA Mejia, Francisco LF 4 0 0 0 .187
No top 30 pitchers in action

The Class A teams were both off yesterday.
