Juan Hillman keeps rolling along toward oblivion. Another nasty, brutish and short outing: 3 innings 6 runs on 4 hits 3 walks and 3 K. ERA: 12.15
On the other hand he was relieved by Gregori Vasquez who went 5 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, 4 strikeouts.
He's a 20 year old RH 6-1 185 from DR.
in 2016 he was 5-2 3.18 in Arizona. 44 K 17 BB in 57 IP 1.25 WHIP
in 2017 he was 5-3 2.38 in Mahoning Valley 57 strikeouts 13 walks in 75 innings 1.057 WHIP

Nolan Jones was 1-4, Ernie Clement ditto. Benson 0-3 drops to 235. Gonzalez 0-4 still 325. Jorma Rodriguez 2 more hits is hitting 425, one was a double.

Wow - thanks for the update on McKenzie HB. I lost track and thought he was surgery bound.

they've never said anything about McK other than "arm stiffness" and "not significant". Which has NOT been fully reassuring.

Actually nothing I read scared me too bad. He was suffering some "soreness in his forearm". Which, obviously, is a lot better than soreness in a shoulder or elbow. So they sat him out a while as a precaution. But I never considered it too much of a worry. More of a strain muscle than a damaged ligament.
The biggest concern with this type thing is he overcompensates for his sore forearm and ends up injuring that elbow or shoulder. So sit him down a while, for sure. Good move. He'll be back 100% soon.

Since you're Nom de Screen is Hillbilly, not Pollyanna, I'll take that comment as good cause to relax.
[seen anything about Brady Aiken? He's not as vital as McKenzie but he hadn't been written off yet.]

Clippers are off today. Mid-game around the farm system:
Akron with only 2 hitters in the lineup over .200 are trailing 1-0 behind Michael Peoples [he's out after 7 innings, his ERA 2.00]. Bradley with 2nd double; Loopstok a pair of singles. I assume when the weather finally warms up in the Northeast averages and ERAs will both rise
Lynchburg has given Tanner Tully a 2-1 lead in the 4th. He's fanned 4 in 3 2/3. His ERA is at 1.72.
Captains with our best-hitting team so far have a 3-1 edge [make that 3-2 updated while I'm typing] in the 3rd. All they have are two singles, by Clement and Gonzalez [both over .300] but that's been enough for 3 runs with a couple errors helping out. Austin Wade second steal.
Lefty Francisco Perez is lucky to be ahead. He's walked 4 and allowed 5 hits in 3 innings. [Yenncy Diaz pitching for Lansing is not Yandy's brother.]

I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on TV but I am great with Google searches.
(my wife has a mug that says don't confuse your Google search with my medical degree LOL)
But seriously, every comment about him I read said not to worry. Just being over-cautious with a great prospect.

They're playing with this strange new extra inning rule in the minors: start the inning with a man on second. So this is going to result in relievers charged with runs for men they did not put on base. Making minor league ERAs even less important than before.

James Karinchak looking good this spring. He relieved Perez for Lake county and worked 2 shutout innings, allowed 1 hit, no walks, struck out 5. Kyle Nelson, another 2017 draftee, finished up with 3 shutout innings, no K no BB, 2 H.
Ernie Clement managed to bat in 3 runs on a total offense of 1 single and a walk. In fact LC scored 4 runs on 2 singles, 3 walks, and 4 errors.

Lynchburg with an extra inning loss. At bat Connor Capel keeps looking good, 2 hits, he's at 313. Mitch Longo's 4th double, a walk, but a caught stealing. Catcher Li Jen Chu homered and singled twice
Tully finished with a fine line: 6 6 2 2 0 5
Krauth 1 1/3 0 1 0 1 1

Akron also lost in 10, 2-1. Loopstok with a pair of singles. Bradley cracks the .100 level with his 2nd double of the year. Other impressive averages for the Rubberducks: Andrew Calica 167; Willi Castro 140; Tyler Krieger 108; Dorsyss Paulino 179; Ka'ai Tom 176. Tom takes undisputed league lead with his 4th time caught stealing; he's been successful 3 times.
