How many here thought that Derek Lowe would do as well as he has? He is now 6-1!

Damon's 413 OBP tops Marson by 20 points.
Does Damon's contract actually have an out-clause we can exercise IF Grady returns? Of course the likelihood is that IF Grady does return he'll last a couple weeks and go back on the shelf. At which point we might want Damon back for his leadership, albeit not necessarily for his bat or his glove.

Derek Lowe moves into tie for AL lead with 6 wins. He's No. 2 in ERA. While he's No. 41 in WHIP and No. 107 in strikeouts. There's more than one way to be a successful pitcher, but his way is harder.

I think this is the first time this year than Acta has used an identical lineup two games in a row. The juggling act the past two days seems to be working. I'm not superstitious, but I'd like to see this same lineup continue for at least one more series.

Well! Now that I looked at the lineup more closely, I guess there were a couple of lineup changes. My bad!
Lowe's complete game came without a strikeout. Unusual to say the least. But! Lowe's groundouts to flyballs ratio was 18-3. I didn't see the game but I'm assuming the defense was rock solid.

Yeah, three double plays and Johnny caught one in left.
Oooops, make that four double plays.

[quote="Hillbilly"]I don't understand. You should like the east coast viewing better if you're a night owl. In NoCal the games must have ended around 7 to 8 for you. Now they will end 10 or 11. Watching Tribe kick ass will give you something to do most of your late evenings.[/quote
Hee hee!
It's a rare night I am asleep before 1:30AM. On the west coast I could have The Tribe at Happy Hour time, and then A's or Giants real time until 10 or 10:30. And then late night surfing of talk shows, news and movies. It's far from a hardship but it is a mind adjustment after over a decade of Pacific Time living and viewing.
It's the Browns at 10AM that I will likely miss the most, though that blow may be softened by The Browns Backers Bar on the saltwater bay, a stone's throw from The Gulf beach.

I've always liked Derek Lowe. When we signed him I was happy, but only counted on him for 6 inning quality starts with a handoff to the pen.
I guess in Cleveland he has discovered the Fountain of Youth, or at least the Moses Cleveland statue.

I'm not worried at all about Johnny Damon. He will eventually contribute with consistency, and hopefully he'll be a contributor in September and October.
I love the fact that Vinnie Pestano's troubled outings have come in games we notched a "W". Nice cushion for a recovery.

Ubaldo off to another rough start. Down 1-0 in the first. 28 pitches so far...
