#Indians prospects headed to the 2017 @MLBazFallLeague
RHP Angulo
RHP Eubank
RHP Linares
LHP Brady
INF Krieger
C Mejia
1B Bradley
OF Tom
I'm glad Angulo and Lineras are getting the experience. They have some potential.
Civ, maybe Fermin is a defensive whiz? He hasn't shown anything at all at the plate.

I cannot think of any reason to send Luke Eubank other than to get him some innings. He had 25 innings last year, and is closing in 20 this summer. He's a 15 th round 6-0 righty in the bullpen.

Clippers are without most of their good players now and it's showing. They go down again tonight to MudHens 5-1. ... Almonte and Chisenhall both 0-3. ... Naquin 0-1 in a pinch hit appearance. ... Papi 2-3 with a home run.
Akron allows 3 runs in 8th and then 3 again in the 9th to lose to Harrisburg 6-5. ... Bieber actually pitched another gem that was wasted by pen. 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 K. ... Allen 2-3 with a double and a SB. ... F.Mejia 1-5. ... Bradley 0-3.
Lynchburg beats Nationals 5-2 on another good day by Civale. 7 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 8 K. ... Eubank struck out the side in the 9th for the save. 1.69 ERA on year now. ... Castro had a single and a stolen base then had to leave the game. Hopefully nothing too serious. Slide feet first kids. ... Collins 0-3 with a walk. ... * McKenzie starts tomorrow *
Lake County lose to Lansing 10-3 on a rare bad night by Plesac. 3 IP, 6 H, 6 ER, 3 BB, 3 K. ... Longo 1-3 with a walk. ... Ice 1-3 with a homer.
Scrappers lose to Batavia 5-1 on a rare off day for Eli Morgan too. 2.2 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K. ... Oscar 0-3. ... Jones 1-3 with a homer and a walk. ... Rivera 1-3 with a walk.
AZL Tribe lose to Padres 7-6. ... Gantt 2-3 with a double, walk, stolen base, and 3 RBI. Go Buckeye! ... Freeman and Holmes both 1-5 with stolen base. ... J.Rodriguez 2-3 with 2 walks. Love seeing this young fella working lots of walks. ... Reeves 1-4 with a walk.

Last season's high school kids at the top of the draft are looking at least decent as they complete their second short seasons as pros.
Nolan Jones had a great line in August: 369/480/607
Will Benson has flaws but he's drawing plenty of walks, 14 in the month, and hitting plenty of xb base hits: 3 doubles, 3 triples, 5 homers for the month. His season base stealing is perfection in 6 tries. For August his slash line: 236/375/569.

3 high school position players at the top of this year's draft, so we have more options for one to succeed.
The first pick Quentin Holmes hardly distinguished himself: 185/220/291
SS Tyler Freeman was OK 297/364/414
RF Johnathan Rodriguez was a very patient hitter but managed few big hits. 261/365/348. HIs August was excellent: 347/500/429 with 15 walks/ 9 strikeouts. No speed on the bases. He'll need to start hitting doubles at least.

BA report:
Francisco Mejia, 3b, Indians. Mejia, the top catching prospect on the Midseason Top 100, made his first start as a pro at third base Wednesday against Double-A Harrisburg (Nationals). Mejia handled one chance, catching a line drive off the bat of Jose Marmolejos. Mejia is expected to play third base in the Arizona Fall League as well, although the Indians say they still see his future as a catcher.

As for those All Star teams, they are based solely on season's performance not on prospect status. Don't necessarily expect Tapia and Loopstok to crack the Tribe Top 30 this winter.

Local Product Mitch Longo Just Keeps Hitting
Indians Organization Report
August 31, 2017 By Jim Ingraham
Read more at
http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/l ... Outfielder Mitch Longo has hit .339/.399/.481 through his first 93 pro games.
“He's put himself on the radar," assistant general manager Carter Hawkins said.
A 14th-round pick out of Ohio in 2016, Longo has hit everywhere he's played. He hit well over .300 in three college seasons, where in 2015 he was named the Mid-American Conference player of the year as a sophomore, when he hit .357.
After being drafted and signed by the Indians, Longo went to short-season Mahoning Valley and hit .307. This year he moved to low Class A Lake County, where he missed time early in the season after surgery to remove a hamate bone, but once he returned he did what he usually does: hit.
Through 55 games in the Midwest League this season, Longo hit .361/.431/.530 with four home runs.
“Mitch has some polish to him and has an idea of what he's trying to do at the plate," Hawkins said. “Combine that with some strength and feel to hit. He's had a knack of making something happen offensively."
Longo, 22, has played all three outfield positions but mostly right field at Lake County this year. A lefthanded batter, he hasn't flashed much power yet.
An Indians fan growing up, Longo was born and went to high school in Mayfield, Ohio, a Cleveland suburb, and he lives in Gates Mills, another Cleveland suburb. Lake County plays its home games at Classic Park, which is a short and easy drive for Longo's friends and family.
Read more at
http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/l ... R.99Hamate surgery delayed the start of Longo's season, but since his return he has been Lake County's best hitter, and one of the better hitters in the MWL.
“Starting the year with the hamate issue certainly set him back," Hawkins said. “But he's made up for lost time. We're excited to see his continued progress."
