I hope we've seen the last of Durbin and Herrmann after this season concludes.

Chad Durbin entered in the eighth and served up 1,182 feet worth of home runs to Alexei Ramirez, Alex Rios and Morel.

I did not like the Durbin signing when it was done and posted so. Now I absolutely hate it. Acta basically used him only when he thought the game was out of reach for the most part. I do not understand why he was used last night.

The bullpen regulars have so many games and innings pitched he might have decided to basically shut them down the rest of the way(?) Perez, Sipp were the league leaders in games pitched as of a couple weeks ago. Pestano and Smith and ChrisP can't be far behind.

It does appear Acta is managing a little differently now that there's no more race. Certainly, Zach Putnam wouldn't have been in there in the late innings to lose a game if we were still in contention.

I wasn't opposed to the Durbin signing when it was made--he had been pretty good these last few years with the Phillies. But for whatever reason, the Indians have had little luck with these middle relief free agents with a semi-high profile (Dennis Cook, Scott Kamieniecki, scott Sauerbeck, Guillermo Mota, and now Durbin).

Bullpens are always going to need a guy that can pitch a few innings in long relief or mop up duty so someone like Durbin will keep finding a job.

I hope MLB doesn't make Asdrubal pee in a cup anytime soon.

Hafner follow that bomb up with a double. The Rookie Reed is getting a nice introduction into the major leagues.

The rookie comes right back and fans Santana for the second out of the inning.

Some humble pie for LaPorta as the rookie gets Matt to go down on strikes.
