That is bad managing.

Just to recap. Most watching the game did not think that Masterson would come out to pitch in the 7th. He did and gave up a single, then an error on Duncan, and then a single loaded them up.

Acta goes to Smith. One pitch, base hit to Cabrera and the score is 4-3. Acta then brings in Sipp who throws one pitch and Victor knocks it out of the park and the score is 7-4.

Verlander out and Chisenhall slams a 2 run homer (Duncan on base with another hit) and the score is 7-6. Duncan is 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored and 4 RBI.

Donald singles and Crowe grounds into a double play. On to the 8th.

Can't as usual blame the offense today.

Sipp gives up far too many homers for a late inning reliever. Hagadone needs the opportunity to win the job from him.

This Martinez guy is a pretty darn good hitter. What do you think we'd have to give up to get him to be our 1st baseman? On the other hand, would I be willing to deal Masterson and Hagadone for him?

He's closing for the Clippers. He's a righty so he wouldn't sub for Sipp, but he certainly can be a big help to the pen in 2012

Pretty discouraging series. I got a call from a Detroit fan "friend" who gloated after the VMart Homer and rubbed it in pretty good.

Well, at least HB's wife is happy. And that should make him happy.
