You gotta love these quotes
"What have they won in Cleveland? Have they won a World Series since 1948?" asked one puzzled GM on Thursday. "Have they won anything since Shapiro and Chris Antonetti took over? No, they have never won anything in Cleveland and they will never win anything in Cleveland because they overvalue prospects in a very dramatic way.
"They are worse to deal with than the Los Angeles Dodgers when every minor leaguer was going to be the NL rookie of the year. Shapiro probably doesn't like the fact that the Blue Jays went for it because they never go for it.
Whatever dolanites are here now need to respond to this. I wonder how the Chernoff cruise is going this year?

5838Dolanite or not, I'll comment on this one.they overvalue prospects in a very dramatic way.
As a team with dreadful attendance, it doesn't surprise me that Cleveland overvalues prospects in this guy's eyes. Clearly this is a GM who wanted to do a deal and it didn't get done. No surprise he is pissed.
I think there is some truth to it, but is likely quite exaggerated. I seem to remember a certain Pomeranz and White traded for Ubaldo. So evidently this wasn't the Colorado GM's quote.

5839Indians re-signed OF Michael Martinez to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Martinez spent the 2015 season in the Indians' organization before opting for free agency. The 33-year-old batted .289/.344/.424 with Triple-A Columbus last season.

5840Lindor finishes a close second to Correa for AL ROY. Either one will be a major building block for a franchise.
Not quite like the time Lofton finished a mysterious 2nd to Pat Listach whose numbers were worse than Kenny's across the board.

Re: General Discussion
5843Minor League Free Agent signings are always boring, but Clippers need some depth, too
The Indians added outfield depth Thursday by signing Shane Robinson to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Spring Training. It was also announced that catcher Adam Moore will return to the organization with a Minor League deal and an invite to big league camp.
Robinson, 31, hit .250/.299/.322 in 197 plate appearances for the Twins in 2015, but his defensive versatility should be an asset for Cleveland if he makes the big league club out of camp.
The Indians' depth chart is questionable right now, with Michael Brantley expected to miss part of April after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right (non-throwing) shoulder, rookie Abraham Almonte returning to center and converted third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall slotted in right.
Robinson is a career .237/.302/.313 hitter in six seasons with the Cardinals and Twins.
Moore, also 31, spent 2015 with Triple-A Columbus and batted .282/.328/.397 in 92 games with six home runs and 44 RBIs. He played in one big league game for Cleveland and went 1-for-4.

5844BA quick comments on the 5 new guys on the Tribe 40 man roster:
Cleveland Indians (36)
3ds_indians83
RHP Dylan Baker—A year after a fractured ankle cost him part of the season, Baker had Tommy John surgery in May and was limited to just five innings.
RHP Mike Clevinger—Clevinger closed out a terrific Double-A season with two excellent Triple-A starts. Clevinger works off a 90 mph fastball that tops out at 95 with some movement. He mixes in an average changeup and slider.
LHP Shawn Morimando—Morimando has a sneaky, running fastball that he can get to 94 mph, and flashes a diving curveball. He’s a bulldog and not afraid to pitch inside.
OF Tyler Naquin—After missing the second half of last season due to a hand injury, Naquin opened this season on the disabled list with a quad injury. Naquin’s ceiling isn’t as high as Bradley Zimmer’s or Clint Frazier’s, but he can be an everyday center fielder.
OF James Ramsey—Acquired from St. Louis for Justin Masterson, Ramsey had a tough season at the plate at Triple-A, but still should soon be able to help the Tribe, at least as a fourth outfielder.
