I can't tell you how much this game means. We keep pace with Detroit. We leapfrog Chicago and own second place. They come out at noon tomorrow feeling good about themselves and they have momentum.

Manny Acta is back on track (I don't think he was even derailed) for his MOY award. He's been pulling all the right strings especially with his management of the bullpen. I think he's gotten side tracked from doing the things that got us off to that jump start. This is the time to become aggressive and not complacent. This is the time to force the action and put pressure on the opposition.

What a beautiful thang it was to see Hannahan, Durbin, and Herrmann end up being stars of the game tonight! What had potential disaster written all over it turned out to be a reversal of fortune as far as the continuation of our road to the playoffs is concerned.

Get a good night's sleep, come out tomorrow afternoon, and start this thing all over again. Just keep on winning fellas! That stinker we laid against Seattle should be a distant memory but still very hard to swallow. We lost some significant ground that's been difficult to regain but its been fun trying.

Tough to tell, but it looked like the catcher tagged him on the back before his hand hit the plate. But it was close, and like I said, the ump was tired, too!

Jake Westbrook hit the first Major League home run of his career tonight... a grand slam.

Not including tonight, Hannahan is hitting .385 for August.
With a friendly twap to a resilient horse, Jack Hannahan has only improved greatly on those numbers. Batting average of .419, and an OBP of .500 since the birth of his child and the night of his teammate's $$ gesture for the late night private $35,000 plane.
Since then, Hannahan has performed in the clutch. Down the stretch. When it's counted.
That's a story.

No way the ump was going to call him out!
Clearly out as the replays showed. But I think umps have a tendency to just get these games over--if it's close and will end the game, what the hell, just get the game over.

We got some favorable strike zone calls also. Most of them in critical situations. The ump has to be an Indian fan. LOL!

A big weekend opportunity to makeup some ground if we can keep winning.
The sox get the tigers and we travel to KC.
Starting on Monday, we host the tigers for three as the sox travel to the twin cities for three.
Our season wrapped up in the next two series!
