Carerra misplay turns a single into a double, but then Perez throws him out at third on the bunt.

Stolen base...

We win but I swear that we are really watching jobo instead of Perez and Carreras is not a major leaguer. That may have been the worst play I have ever seen.

re the Thome effect I think it is pretty clear that Dolan low balled thome and because I dont think he is very smart and had made some silly comments he was made to be the villain when nothing was farther from the truth unlike lequit who I imagine is worse than we think if that is possible.

It really rankles that we had 3 hall of fame type middle of the order hitters at 1 time in joey manny and thome and kept none of them. You would have thought that maybe the brain trust could have picked one of these guys and told him you are our man and paid him.

They tried. Unfortunately none of them wanted to play in Cleveland. Players just like everyday people do what they want to do.

No matter how much you whine and cry about it. Blame everyone else and point fingers. The fact is that Belle, Ramirez, Thome, CC, and Lee did not want to play or live in Cleveland. Just like you.

The only difference about the group is that Ramirez and Thome used the Indians to get bigger contracts. CC and Lee had the guts to tell the Indians ahead of time. Belle neither party was sure they actually wanted the psycho around.

kenm's a moron and knows very little about baseball but every now and then posts something thought provoking. He's right losing Manny and Thome for nothing was a huge set back to the Indians. You have to sign these guys ar all cost or trade them at peak value usually a year and a half before FA. Why is this important?

Well the Indians have two key players with two years remaining before FA after this season, Choo and Jimenez. Both need to be traded or extended new contracts by next years All Star break. Both will be cheaper NOW with however added risk because of sub-par 2011 play.

Top to bottom our pitching is outstanding and if Rondon and Knapp can get healthy it's 'long term' outstanding. Masterson, Jimenez, Tomlin, Carmona, Carasco, Huff all are big league starters and in spite of his few starts I like both Gomez and MacAlister. Simply put the bull pen is just plain loaded with talented guys. So much so in fact that I think Acta could be more aggressive in managing his relief pitchers. The Indians should simply dominate in games that they are tied or in the lead at any point past the 6th inning. I could care less how many pitches Carmona had thrown. To get through 6 in a tie game with Carmona it's BULL PEN time!!! Acta doesn't have a feel for how to win close games any more than Wedge did!!! He's cheap, decent, good company man but I hope we do not extend his contract until he proves he can win in August and September.

What does all this mean? Chen and Hagadone will replace Durbin and Hermann making our pen evern better. The rotation can be locked up for another 4/5 years and keep getting better, DO IT! Commit to Marson as the everyday catcher until Chen is ready and move Santana to 1B and be done with it. He will be a very good 1B once that is his full time position. Move LaPorta back to LF and put him and Carmona along with Sizemore on the trading block for a middle of the order RH bat that can play a decent LF. It may take until the middle of next year to trade these guys but find a time when they get hot and dump them for a legit bat!

So far Antonitti is my favorite GM! He makes moves to make the team BETTER! And he has the support of both Shapiro and Dolan meaning that everyone realizes there is a window RIGHT NOW to be a playoff team for a few years maybe more! Be aggessive, dump your under performing assets as soon as practical (Sizemore, Carmona, Hafner, LaPorta), recoup their contracts and reinvest in better players!!!!

Everyone, even the moron kenm and the glass is always half empty sea have to be enjoying this season more than the last few. Heck even joez is back! Keep up the great work J.R. posting in game time and GO INDIANS!

PS Love ya ken just disagree with 99% of what you post :-)
