ND Dawg - You are certainly right. We lost that on what should have been another walk in the late innings. That would have produced a run, I believe in the 12th inning. Those guys stunk.

I'm just in California, so what do I know?
But as I hoped and posted late last night, here we are right back where we started from yesterday.
Two out again, and same distance from the White Sox.
I won't inject any more "California Here I Come" themes, but my wife did fly in this evening after 10 days on the road with our kids, and let's just say I got a bit busy when she arrived.
I checked in with the game on the iPhone from in the 7th from an Italian restaurant just South of SFO and knew Fausto Carmona and The Team were coming up huge.
Meaningful intestinal fortitude in late August is fun and cool to see.

Fausto with the kind of start I was hoping for from Jimenez last night.
He has actually strung together a few decent performances as of late.

eocmcdoc wrote:Two things to note from last night's game. 1 - the defensive interference was actually ruled correctly. Only the runner that is interfered with gets protection on bases they would have made without the interefence. Choo being the following runner gets no award. 2- the blown tag play at 3rd, umpires are taught not to be too close to the call. That guy was darn near standing on top of the bag. It exploded in front of him & no one was there to give him any help on the call. Imo the worst of the lot was the poor excuse for the plate umpire. Hopefully he is not like this all the time. Hate to have him behind the plate for game 7 of the world series.
Reference the game before our latest glorious win, good umpiring insight
McDoc.
On the defensive interference I wasn't reading lips, but I believe the umps explained that rule as you described to Acta's acceptance watching the game real time.
My bitch was that if our runner had not gown done on the interference, an errant throw to try to get Choo at 2nd would have given us a run. We never got a chance to find out.
We won tonight, so unless that game matters on the last game of the season, it's water under the bridge.

Fausto Carmona did everything we could have wished for and hoped for, and then some.
Chris Perez only had to toss 12 pitches to notch his save, so in a way Carmona picked him up, too.
