Another full count to Santana.....
And Santana is our 19th K of the night.
Up to Fukudome, who could have played this game without a bat or glove to this point.
But this time he uses his bat for a lazy fly....no can of corn....to center for out number 3.
He's 0 for 6, and we want a 15th inning.

One down, and Steve Stone notes that Huff is up in our pen.

One out double as another ball drops between Fukudome and Choo.
Steve Stone politely notes, "Choo never seems to be in the right spot tonight."

Infield single.
If Coco Crisp is really on that waiver wire, my interest will have increased after watching this outfield tonight. And I wasn't a huge Crisp fan when he was with us.
Huff in, and Durbin takes a seat.

Huff inherits 2nd and 3rd, with one out.
Infield way in.

Well now you can go to sleep.
Huff gives up a single, and it's an 8-7 final in Chicago.

Juan "Robes" Pierre singled cleanly to left for the winning hit.

After noting that it's 1:30AM back east, I look up and reality sets in that's still only 10:30 in California.
We've got another one of these tomorrow.
A little good play and luck and we can be right back where we started from earlier today.

Can't say I`m too impressed with one Ubaldo Jimenez so far.
Giving up a home run to to Juan Pierre isn't quite Jason Tyner bad but it's close.

The organization fired a very big volley to get Ubaldo Jimenez to give a square chance to win it this year when it is very winnable. I applauded that and still do.
As the cards were on the table.....at the time of the shot......I thought it was a good move.
No fat ladies are in sight, and we are still only 3 games out with Labor Day still a couple of weeks away.
I'll take it.
Maybe Ubaldo Jimenez flew ahead of the team and some lady of the evening enticed him to enjoy some Chicago deep dish pizza and a little too much pepperoni got involved.
Who knows?
He'll get 'em next time.

I doubt there has ever been a worse umpired MLB game!

Two things to note from last night's game. 1 - the defensive interference was actually ruled correctly. Only the runner that is interfered with gets protection on bases they would have made without the interefence. Choo being the following runner gets no award. 2- the blown tag play at 3rd, umpires are taught not to be too close to the call. That guy was darn near standing on top of the bag. It exploded in front of him & no one was there to give him any help on the call. Imo the worst of the lot was the poor excuse for the plate umpire. Hopefully he is not like this all the time. Hate to have him behind the plate for game 7 of the world series.
