Haven't paid a lot of attention to Hillcats SS Ivan Castillo but he's only 20, playing in High A, leads the league with a swarm of triples [12]and has 18 steals. 251 average. Only 25 walks. 29 errors. 4.48 range factor: is that good, bad, or indifferent?

Zimmer with 2 homers for the RDucks. That makes 6 in AA and 16 for the year. He's in some sort of a hurry to reach Cleveland, it appears. And there is a spot waiting for him in Right Field.

Yesterday's lines:

CLE AA Moncrief, Carlos RF 4 1 2 4 .254 HR (2), BB (21), CS (2)
CLE AA Rodriguez, Nellie 1B 4 0 1 1 .222 2B (1)
CLE AA Rodriguez, Ronny DH 4 1 1 0 .294 CS (3)
CLE AA Zimmer, Bradley CF 3 3 2 2 .266 2 HR (6), BB (10)
CLE AAA Aguilar, Jesus DH 4 1 1 0 .252 BB (32)
CLE LoA Bradley, Bobby 1B 4 1 1 3 .255 HR (21) Oh yeah, him, too.
CLE MAJ Lindor, Francisco SS 2 0 1 1 .277 BB (11)
CLE MAJ Perez, Roberto C 3 1 1 0 .224 BB (30)
CLE SS Tom, Ka’ai LF 3 0 1 2 .294 2B (8) This kid is having a very solid August.

Still Hot:

9. Bradley Zimmer, cf, Indians

Team: Double-A Akron (Eastern)
Age: 22
Why He’s Here: .409/.480/.864 (9-for-22), 6 R, 2B, 3 HR, 6 RBIs, 3 BB, 5 SO, 1-for-1 SBs

Zimmer is wrapping up an outstanding first full pro season. He’s shown power (16 home runs, .504 slugging percentage), speed (38 steals in 43 attempts), solid defense and an ability to hit for average and get on base. The Indians doubled up on first-round outfielders in 2013 (Clint Frazier) and 2014 (Zimmer), and this year both are showing signs they can live up to those expectations

I sent them a vote for Mejia. all he's done since July 24 is go 29-63 with 10 walks. On base over 52% of the time. Only a couple xb hits, obviously he's been more selective, shortened the swing and gone for contact. Impressive adaptability for a 19 year old

Luigi Rodriguez is being suspended 80 games for PED use.

No wonder he was having a good year.

Anyone with a suspicious nature might not be too surprised to learn that Luigi Rodriguez, whose power has been vastly improved this year, has been given an 80 game suspension for performing enhancing drugs. Sorry to hear it.

I hope he has not been sharing with Dorsyss Paulino.

Friday night games:

http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.js ... d=20150814

Akron:
yandy Diaz 7th homer, 4 rbi
Ronnie Rodriguez 2 homers, that makes 11 and he missed half the season. 873 OPS. Not all perfect: 6bb/42k
Duke vonSchamman back from his 80 game suspension

Lynchburg:
Levon W 3 hits
Frazier single
Papi double, 2 walks
Castillo 2 hits
Luis Lugo: 5-1-2-2-2-3 hr; he allows too many homers

Lake C:
Allen double, 2 walks, sb 42
Bradley, once again, homers. That's 23. 3 games in a row
Anderson Polanco: 6-1-1-1-3-3

Mah C:
Mathias single, double
Lovegrove awful as always: 3-5-4-3-3-0 6.00 his 3rd season in short season; should be his last as a pro

GMejia single double steal No. 32; CS #10-- caught at 3rd base which seem to be a high share of his CS

I see Ryan Merritt [10-7 3.51] is scheduled tonight for Akron; and he's also scheduled to make his AAA debut.
The starters for Lake C and Mah C have a combined record of 3-15. Milbrath and Linares.

Merritt is on the Columbus roster and no longer on Akron's so I guess he really is working in AAA today, probably as replacement for Tomlin. Meanwhile DJ Brown is now listed on Akron's staff, so I guess he's their starter tonight.
