We have 6 starters, assuming Carrasco is healthy, and Gomez behind them, so it should be manageable. And the bullpen will be full with additions of Hagadone and Lee and Judy. Bench supplemented by Phelps, maybe a catcher like Paul Phillips and Buck and Duncan will add to the weak crew of OFs

At least glad Thome's 2 home run night and milestone is coming against Detroit. Hope that lead holds up. If it does we will have picked up a full game without playing a game of our own.

Continuing in the school of deceased equines, one of my knocks on Jhonny Peralta was my observation he seemed to pick up his hits in non-pressure situations....and after The Tribe was out of the race. Not researched, but what I noted in my watching.

I hope I don't cause him to do something good in this game tonight, but I will note that since Detroit has gained first place Jhonny Peralta has cooled.

I've got him at 11 for 47 for August for .234 through the 7th inning tonight.

Edit: Just noted Peralta through tonight's Tigers loss has zero RBI's for August, and just two extra base hits. 9 singles and 2 doubles and two walks in his 49 at bats and an OBP of .276. For our sake, I hope his trend continues.

How can thome get in the hall when he was only the 4th or 5th best hitter on his own team-95 tribe-which dolan gave away?
