Though he will get an "NL" bump.
Have you seen Masterson's splits vs NL teams? ERA more than 1.00 lower, all the other numbers are much better, too. After his much better stats with the Cardinals than with the Indians I hope no AL team (e.g. Cleveland) misreads that as a step back to his prior prime and overpays in the winter.

Indians trade Asdrubal Cabrera to Nationals

According to MLB.com's Jordan Bastian, the Indians have traded Asdrubal Cabrera to the Nationals.
Zach Walters, a 24-year-old infielder with good numbers this year at Triple-A, is headed to Cleveland in return. Cabrera will play second base in Washington, with Ian Desmond remaining at shortstop and Anthony Rendon covering third base while Ryan Zimmerman recovers from a severe hamstring strain. Cabrera was batting just .246/.305/.386 in 97 games this season for the Tribe, but he has decent power for a middle infielder.

I was thinking the same Lou. Looks like we will be sending Lindor to triple "A" for added experience. We'll most likely see Lindor in September.

Really no need to rush Lindor. He still has stuff to work on.

The Cleveland Indians completed a trade with the Washington Nationals on Thursday just an hour before the trade deadline sending shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera to the Nationals in exchange for shortstop Zach Walters. The Indians also sent the Nationals an undisclosed amount of cash in the deal.

Cabrera, 28, was hitting .246 with 9 HR, 40 RBI and .692 OPS in 97 games. He was in the final year of his contract and is making $10 million this season. He is expected to play second base for the Nationals.

Walters, 24, is a switch-hitter who has split the season between the big leagues and Tripe-A Syracuse. In 60 games with Syracuse he was hitting .300 with 15 HR, 48 RBI and .965 OPS, and in 32 games with the Nationals was hitting .279 with 3 HR, 5 RBI and .741 OPS. Over his 51 game minor league career he owns a .280 batting average with 69 HR, 284 RBI and .806 OPS. He also has a 130-493 walk to strikeout ratio in 2,101 plate appearances.

Walters will replace Cabrera on the 40-man roster and is also expected to be added to the active 25-man roster in Cleveland. While he has played shortstop for most of his career, he profiles more as an everyday player at third base or as a utility player that plays all the infield positions and corner outfield positions as well.
