Bobby Bradley hits a double and homer tonight. The home run was a real mammoth shot. He has a 6 game hit streak now, 2 homers in those games.
Not quite here yet tho ...

I looked at Bradley's numbers and one bad one stands out: 47 K in about 140 plate appearances; throw in another 23 walks and the 8 homers and his pct of at bats where defenders have nothing to do is about 55%

Civ:
You're right about Bradley, and as you know, it is the sort of thing I would usually beat up a guy for too. But I'm being a little more patient with Bradley cause he started off the season hurt and doing terrible. Seems like as the season has gone on he has just continued to get a little better. So considering his big power potential I'm going to reserve judgement on him for a while. I still like him.

I'm OK with a big slugger warts and all. Aguillar has developed more warts than talent. Nellie Rod is coming along well in High A at age 20. Bradley even more of a slugger and on last year's form has the highest ceiling of the three.
Don't have a sense we drafted any power bats this year, or is there someone down in the lower rounds? Rodriguez was a 15th round pick.

Really nice to see Papi improving. I was high on him when we selected him.

at this point he's a tall singles and doubles hitter. Has yet to launch a home run. I guess the power comes later.

Tony Wolters hasn't mastered AA pitching, but he's getting rave reviews for his defense. 55% caught stealing after 47% last year. No errors to date of latest report in BA. "Also shown an excellent ability to quietly receive pitches, earning some extra strikes for his pitchers"
