It's been a week of heartbreak. Could have won all 7 games!

You mean, like Mariano Rivera and Papelbon?

He is going through a tough spell, like everyone does, simple as that IMO.

And I do think Acta is working that bullpen awfully hard.

It definitely could be why he lets his starters maybe go the extra mile at this point.

These are probably the two worst teams in the league to face back-to-back if you're a pitcher. Even so, the starters were pretty damn good throughout. We lost all 4 games in the series in the opponent's last at-bat.

Tomlin's hometown is just down the road from me, so this probably isn't even the hottest weather he's ever pitched in. Too bad Smith picked tonight to completely implode. You can just see the "here we go again" going through the team whenever people get on base late.

All these late losses have left us with zero margin for error in the Detroit series. We pretty much have to win those first two games (since we're not beating Verlander in the third game).

Just another game, and we're only 4 games out in early August.

I might have in Twilight Zone style offered my left pinky for a win in prior decades......... at this point of this season.

It WAS a sucky loss.

I tuned in on the radio broadcast in the 8th inning and learned we were up 3-0 and then realized we were ahead without my superstitions, and then turned it off.

Maybe I should have left the game on.

Kipnis makes a great diving stop to take hit and rbi away from Victor Martinez to end first inning, then doubles in the 2nd

Just looking at the standings and realize on August 7 we were 56-56.

8/7

8X7=56

The announcers said a short rain delay was forecast because the system was moving fast.

What's the local prognosis on the latest weather?

If they start up again tonight this delay will likely blow the starters.

Weather.com says the Cleveland rain should end by 10PM local time. The radar does look like a large clear area is coming soon.

Just tuned back in at 10:08PM Cleveland time and found the game going and 2-2 in the bottom of the 4th.

Durbin took over for Masterson at the end of the rain delay.

With only 37 pitches throw, Acta can maybe get innovative with his starters and let Masterson go on less than normal rest if desired.
