No roster moves posted at Indians.com. House will be counted on for at least 5 innings. I guess Lowe can give us one or two, Shaw ditto, maybe Carrasco. I don't think they'd want anyone else back out tonight. Mike Aviles is probably getting ready for some work on the hill. I wonder if Jason Giambi can throw the ball 60 feet 6 inches?

Esmil Rogers - R - Blue Jays
Blue Jays sent Esmil Rogers outright to Triple-A Buffalo.
The veteran right-hander passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as organizational depth both in the rotation and the bullpen for the Blue Jays.

I couldn't remember what we gave to the Rockies to get him; looked it up and it appears that Colorado released him and we got him for nothing.

Different deal. Pomeranz is pitching very well this season for Oakland, back in the rotation.

In his first three starts, Pomeranz is 3-0 with 15 scoreless innings, 16 Ks and a 0.80 WHIP. The former top prospect has a bright future now that he's moved from Denver to Oakland

Replaced by Aguillar and Kotteras? Unfortunately every time we add a catcher to the roster we have to mess around with the 40 man roster

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Indians have placed first baseman Nick Swisher and third baseman/catcher Carlos Santana on the 15-day disabled list.
To replace they've recalled Jesus Aguilar and purchased the contract of George Kottaras from Class AAA Columbus. Right-hander Blake Wood was designated for assignment to make room for Kottaras on the 40-man roster.
Swisher was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a hyper-extended left knee that he injured Monday against the White Sox. Santana was placed on the seven-day DL for a concussion. He was hit in the mask by a foul tip Sunday in Baltimore.

Not sure how long Santana will be on the DL. I've heard 7, 10, and 15 days.

Wood looked good before he actually had to pitch in the regular season. He has good stuff and someone may pick him up. it might be easier if we kept a backup C on the roster but that would be possible only if he's someone who has minor league options left. Roberto Perez meets that criterion, unfortunately he's now on the Columbus DL
