Did someone set the clock back to 1995?

Sandy Alomar's slam tonight was perfection...
You said it my friend!

Looked like a few more were in attendance last night. Was it fireworks, or was there some walkup crowd? This is starting to get fun again!

Howdy - I'll weigh in the White callup discussion. IMWO he was called up because he is the next best pitcher. Clearly the team is not impressed by Huff and for good reason, when a guy is giving up more walks than strike outs at AAA, the last thing you do with him is put him in front of major league hitters.

I'm betting Zach McAllister is next depth chart.

Best April EVER for the Tribe but I would still love to see them get a veteran starter to plug in at the back of the rotation. I think Talbot is on the shelf for awhile and who knows about Carrasco.

I wonder if Jeremy Bonderman is interested in playing this season? Sign him to an incentive laden minor league deal, get him some time in the minors with a guarantee that if he isn't in Cleveland by a certain date we'll grant him his release (if he wants it). It would just be nice to have a veteran insurance arm at Columbus and we don't have one right now.

That's a nice idea TG

If not Bonderman, then someone.

I'll take JoeZ at his word on how busy he is but he has to be excited about this team, it's the kind of team he's been wanting for a long time - good defense, good pitching, and a strong bench with a manager that is willing to try and do the "little things."

BTW, on the subject of the bench - Marson, Everett, Duncan, and Kearns. I can't remember a time when we had a bench this strong.

On Santana - he'll be fine. Despite his struggles he kept a good approach at the plate. He kept drawing walks and seeing a lot of pitches and now he's starting to come out of it.

Good point about our team and bench Tribe Guy. So far only Kearns has not contributed much but we need a RH bat. Hopefully he gets on track soon.

Defensively it's a good group too. Defense is Everett and Marson's calling card. Duncan can play the corner OF positions and first and Kearns is a solid defense OF with a strong arm. He can even play some CF if you need him to.

TG - this, following your earlier post.

Kevin Millwood - S - Yankees

The Orioles are monitoring the status of Kevin Millwood, but there doesn't appear to be serious interest in bringing him back to Baltimore.

Millwood is likely to opt out of his deal by Sunday if he's not called up by the Yankees, which almost surely isn't going to happen. The O's are looking for some pitching depth, but it appears Millwood isn't really on their radar, as they've yet to send anyone to see him pitch.

A lot of talk about who's not posting here.

I've been working around 260-280 hours a month this past year. I'm getting on top of things so I hope to cut it down to 230-250 hours a month. I might get an assistant and that might free my time up even more. But the money's been killer, and I'm not ready to cut back too much yet.

So I've seen a grand total of 2 games so far, not much to throw around a lot of opinions on the internet. I plan to opt for the MLB internet deal, and hopefully I can patch it into my high-def TV. I first have to get a decent land line into this house and whatever the highest speed ISP provider that's available. It still won't be real fast in the Colorado mountains (nobody offers real high-speed stuff here yet), but it will be better than the mobile hotspot we currently have with spotty at best bandwidth. It's way too slow to stream games.

I'm loving the fact that this team is doing so well, and I'm catching up on the posts and articles here whenever I can, usually on weekends.

But I'm not going to have much to say unless I can actually watch the games. Geographically and work schedule-wise it's not looking good for me to actually watch the team this year. they're not coming to Colorado. But I may very well adopt the Rockies as my NL team.

MTFAN: Love the avatar! 30+ years of teaching has made me an effective nagger, I guess!
Read and post whenever you can. Looks like it just might be a "special" season for the Tribe...

And ND DAWG has a nice pic, too!

Tribe designates RHP Jess Todd for assignment to add Alex White to 40-man roster. Frank Herrman sent back to AAA.
