When I spent some time in Jamaica as a young man I ate something called "patties" that I bought from a vendor near the beach. They were kind of a spicy ground meat wrapped in flour and deep fried, very tasty.
I'll be damned if I ever had any idea what the meat was. But I will say, the people who sold them were very poor, and there were lots of stray dogs running around all over the place.
Having said that, I'll agree the whole thing to discredit Romney for strapping a dog to the roof of his station wagon is stupid. I think as much as anything, it was something the late night comedians used for a laugh. But any official campaign use of such a non-issue is just stupid.

I'll never forget the press having a field day after seeing Lyndon Johnson pick his dog up by the ears.

For the record, someone's choice on the subject of Gay Marriage would never influence my decision to vote, or not vote, for them.
My important issues in voting are "strong national defense," "less government," simplified and lower taxes, and an acceptance of individual thought...however addled those in Marin and Sean Penn might be.
I'm not "rah rah" on the Gay Marriage thing, but I do at this moment believe God put people on this earth who might be happier living with their same sex.
Blowing political correctness askew, I do not think there are many or any guys who are "pretending" to be Gay.
If they are committed to doing things that Gay Guys do, I think that pretty much is a scientific litmus test equivalent of being Gay. If any of them meet up and decide they want to marry, I hope they each have good attorneys and have friends over and have a good time.
And still blowing political correctness further askew, I'm not so sure the same thought applies to girls. I think there are girls out there who want to think they are Gay out of convenience. I've had personal research into the matter, and my findings are still in a state of flux.
Hence, I will load my flux capacitor, and continue into the future.

Heard today that there are 500,000 less women in the workforce now then when Obama took office. ... This a few days after I read that the unemployment rate among African Americans is like 5 or 6 points higher than the overall unemployment rate in the United States. (and it's the highest it has been since Reagan's first term. Unlike the current prez who only makes excuses and points fingers, some presidents actually came in during bad times and turned things around)
A couple months back Japan dropped their corporate tax rate. Now the United States has the highest tcorporate tax rate in the world. Liberals want it even higher.
Don't expect the job situation to get any better any time soon. At least not until January 21st, 2013.
For the life of me I do not understand why the GOP gets labeled as hating women and black people when it is so obvious it is liberal policies and the nanny state that drag them down more than anything. I mean, how is Detroit doing? Baltimore? Cleveland, South Side of Chicago? Rotting for decades, yet you practically have to put a gun to their head to get them to vote anything besides democrat anyway.

That South Side of Chicago is the baddest part of town.
Some guy named McCoy tried to shake things up some years ago.

Not sure of the accuracy, but heard a radio report today that the news media reported the budget President Obama was rejected by the US House and the US Senate.
According to the report, the Obama budget was UNANIMOUSLY rejected by both houses.
A whole bunch of representatives and Senators, to zero.
Few national news media reported the specifics.

This is an e-mail I got from our Montana congressman. (Republican congressman)
The current administration has been bashed for alot of things in here, but don't remember this dumb ass treaty being one of them.
.
The New START Treaty with Russia will go down as one of the worst, most one-sided deals in American history, made all the worse for the danger it poses to Malmstrom’s primary mission, the 341st ICBM Missile Wing. President Obama and Senate treaty ratifiers want to surrender our nuclear deterrence without getting anything in return.
If two countries sign a nuclear arms reduction treaty, both sides have to reduce their nuclear arms, but that’s not what’s happening. The Russians were already well under their quota for nuclear weapons established by the treaty.
When the treaty went into effect, the United States had 1,800 warheads and Russia had just 1,537. New START limits warheads to 1,550 – more than what the Russians already had.
Similarly, when the treaty went into effect, the United States had 882 deployed delivery devices including Malmstrom’s ICBMS, while Russia had only 521. New START limits deployed delivery vehicles to 700. Again, Russia is already below the limit.
So unsurprisingly, the first thing Russia did after signing the treaty was increase its arsenal, while the U.S. unilaterally disarmed. The Senate shouldn’t have ratified this disastrous treaty which threatens Malmstrom’s missiles. That’s why I successfully offered an Amendment to help clean up the mess President Obama and the Senate got us into.
.
I figured there was no way to make a deal any worse than the trade deals we have with China right now but apparently I was wrong.

Wait--whom did we get from China?? Did we have to give up any pitching prospects?

We received Yao Ming and a blind Chinese Christian activist.
Not worth all the businesses and jobs we gave up.

I've had only four or five people cut my hair in the past 30 years. I like to find someone I like, and then just sit in the chair with no instructions needed. For five years I only had my hair cut in Dallas, Texas, though I never officially lived in Dallas but worked there at least once a month for 17 years.
Today in my new home with my wife in Southwest Florida, I think I found a new girl to cut my hair. She had previously been the "lead designer" at The Hyatt Resort here, but left as she lamented due to the Hyatt's reluctance to advertise to get local hair cutting clientele and just the visitors could not keep her busy enough.
I chimed in that as a now "local," I would NEVER have thought about going to a hotel for a local haircut.
"Yes, I know," was her response.
I let her know that I wanted to find a person to cut my hair that I could be loyal to and depend upon for years to come.
I tested her with a mention I had read that Barack Obama had flown his favorite hair dresser from Chicago to Washington every three weeks during his Presidency.
"Well, he can do it," she offered.
She further offered, "it seems like a waste, though."
She had me at "hello."
Her name is Susan. If two of you let her cut and style your hair, my next cut is free....

If only I had enough hair to style.
