Good for Ezequiel. That's an upgrade in my opinion. Zeke deserved the promotion. He earned it.

He has had a terrific month after a rather lackluckster first couple.
It took us a lot longer to dump Damon than it did to get rid of Brady Anderson.

A blast from the past. Brady's steroid supply got stolen.

He really looked good coming in to get those sunglasses and then didn't use them when he should have.
Maybe he can hit, but where do you hide him in the field.

Just got back from watching a youth baseball game.
While I was standing there, a couple of parents in front of me
were discussing the Red Sox loss to the Twinkies last night. One guy was
railing about the pitching. The other guys says "Lowe is available".
The first guy says "Lowe...are you kidding....he has a big time drinking problem." He says" He's
got a couple of DUIs.I was at a couple of charity golf tournaments and Lowe was completely wasted both times. He was really tossing them back...not beer...hard stuff"
Could explain the tank jobs the last half of the past two seasons.

Sea, Lowe has always been a drinker but it has nothing to do with his pitching.
Why do you think Epstein (Cubs) and the Red Sox both want him since they both know him better then anyone ? Lowe is like having another coach around in the way he deals with young pitchers and how he takes time to teach them the ropes.
Lowe is a great teammate !

Rusty
Big difference in being a drinker and an out of control drinker. Maybe it doesn't make a difference when you're 28 but when you're 38 pitching with a hangover might be a little tougher.

It appears that Frank Herrmann is only reliever now working in Columbus who's on the 40 man roster. So despite a mediocre season Frank will have to be promoted to add a fresh arm to the bullpen. The others on the roster in Columbus are Gomez, who is doing OK of late, Huff, who is not

So the press story of the last 24 hours is that Antonetti gave Acta a "vote of confidence."
"The one constant through all the years has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past. It reminds us of all that once was good, and what could be again." - James Earl Jones in Field of Dreams (1989)
The one constant of Cleveland Indians Baseball for now 22 seasons, since 1991, has been Mark Shapiro.
He's been anointed GM and double anointed as President since 2001. That was awhile ago....
Cleveland Indians records with Mark Shapiro as GM or "President":
2002: 74-88
2003: 68-94
2004: 80-82
2006: 78-84
2008: 81-81
2009: 65-97
2010: 69-93
2011: 80-82
2012: 50-59, and in an ongoing tailspin
Five consecutive seasons without a winning record, and nine of his eleven in the organizational top spot.
The roster is near void of talent, and seemingly the Minor League cupboard is just as bare.
Why the hell is Mark Shapiro not being held accountable in the press?

Didn't they play in 2005 and 2007?

At least most of Wedge's teams got better as the season went on. Not like No Acta's teams that seem to quit playing.
