Saturday you can define the two games as an exchange of come from behind rallies, or an exchange of lousy relief pitching. Either team could won both or neither.

Beiber fell apart in the 2nd today, a 2 run homer and a 3 run homer.
Cleveland has had 5 hits in 3 innings; but nothint to show for it; Reyes just ended the 3rd with a double play with men on first and third and one out. Has it been noticed that he is not very useful to this club?

even now in hits with 6, still behind 5-0. Bieber has been OK since the 5 run 2nd but that is a bit of a stain on the record.
No Sox errors, they only have 4 more innings to go.

2 out rally, sort of, in the 6th. Giminez double, wild ptich to 3rd. Miller walks.
And who bats in this clutch spot? Ernie.

who's going to replace Clement as a spare IF? Not Gabriel Arias he's hitting below 200 and striking out at prodigious rate for Columbus. 41 K in 144 AB
Looking at his stats history he's often struck out too much, why did we think he was a top 5 prospect?
Tyler Freeman is not setting the world on fire but he's hitting 266/356/348 21 BB vs 29 K for him is worse than his norm.

1/2 enough late rally; 2 run homer by Reyes in the 8th; Kwan with his 2nd homer in the 9th. So we split the series

rare errorless game by the Sox. and Ramirez-less for Cleveland. And 3 homers off Bieber. That trifecta means a sure loss

Straw left in the 7th Injury or just a bit of rest when the team trailed by 6?
Alex Call got a chance to hit once. I would think that 9 at bats is plenty for the 27 year old rookie.
Yeah I knew he hits RH and Jones, Brennan, Palacios and Benson all hit Left, but they are all actually big league prospects, he's an "organizational player"

Why does it seem like Tito has the "b" team for 2nd game of doubleheaderrs and final game of 3 and game series?

I may be too tough on Pilkington. 5 innings 2 runs is OK. His ERA of 4.17 is two full runs better than Civale 6.17 and inches behind Plesac's4.02; Quantrill is a little better at 3.75, who is a little behind Bieber 3.55, The ace clearly is McKenzie 3.11 and a WHIP below 1.00

Plesac tonight. Who tomorrow? Isn't time to try someone other Kirk McCarty?
Cannot be Battenfield, since he pitched [his worst game of the year] yesterday
Cannot be Gaddis since he pitched Saturday, but it wouldn't be him, that was his first game in AAA
Cannot be Tully since he pitched Friday and anyway he's no better than McCarty
the Columbus pitchers who could be available are
Logan Allen, who hasn't had a good outing in AAA yet
Xzavion Curry who has only had 3 stars in AAA
Which means it will have to be McCarty with his 9.00 ERA in 12 innings, I am afraid

PD says that Tito is planning a bullpen game with Bryan Shaw getting his first start ever.

Interesting that Brian Shaw is starting. Why?
I posted when he was signed that Shaw would be out of gas and released June 1.
He's still hanging on, surprisingly.
If he gets hammered, Aug 1 would be the new date for DFA.
