Just like Kwan and Gonzalez and to a degree Palacios Jones debuts looking great. Hit the longest home run of the season for the G's. And I guess he's capable of playing RF. Too many OF's?!

Karinchak with a pretty bad inning: 2 hits, a walk, 26 pitches but no runs
And Sandlin with a 1-2-3 9th holding the 11 run lead, perhaps the Royals were by then in a hurry to go home.

McKenzie with a gem! 8 shutout innings [that makes 21 in a row] 12 strikeouts, 0 walks. He's among the top 5 in the league in men on base and Avg against. ERA of 3.20 is that high only because of the glut of homers he allowed during his off period.
12th in ERA
3rdi in WHIP
4th in AVG against
tied with some good pitchers like Cole for 3rd in homers allowed

Can I think of a rhyme for that?
and how many baseball fans are aware of the Spahn and Sain rhyme? It was ever before my time, by a little.

Sloppy defense, great relief, late inning rally. Giminez is an amazing late game hitter. He's hit 6 of his 10 homers in the 8th inning or later; he's hitting over 400 in the 9th and 1000 in extra innings, 4-4; he produced early for him yesterday, with 7th inning game winning hit.

Quantrill had a great 2nd half last year; a good April and May this year and a pretty rotten June and July.
April and May 3 homers in 54 innings
June and July 9 homers in 41 innngs
Last start of his 1st half today vs Tigers.
Iron glove Miller on the bench; lineup might be the best we can field defensively, although Hedges is I guess better than Maile

I think you are shortchanging Plesac. He got robbed in a great many solid outings with no run support.
Really - look around MLB. Plesac/Quantrill are perfectly reasonable 3rd and 4th starters who stack up against most anyone.
Take one of our kids (Espino? L. Allen etc) and plug them in at some point to bump Civale and then you have something.
But bottom line it's the hitting that's most hampered by the ridiculous 40 man cluster. A nice trade from that depth would ideally yield an MLB bat.

that's fair; it looks like Gavin Williams could be the first to the majors. Logan Allen is a step ahead in Columbus but his first starts have been: terrible, bad and bad. Espino is a great prospect but he's been out since April. Williams has been just as tough in AA as in Lake County and is now risen to No. 42 on the BA midseason To 100. That puts him as the No. 15 pitcher in the minors which isn't bad.

Some pretty nice work by Guardians in the All Star game
Real slick start of a double play by Giminez [although he did strike out twice in 2 at bats]
2 singles in 2 at bats by Ramirez [although he did make an error]
Nearly immaculate 9th inning by Clase, although he did through one pitch out of the strike zone as he fanned the side on 10 pitches.
