Is stinking a medical condition?
OR was he playing through an injury he shouldn't have been playing through?

So the Pilkington/Eli act still rolls on. Not bad either.

Morgan is just filthy this year. 92 MPH on his fast ball and 75 MPH on that ridiculous changeup.

Excuses for non-performance are a dime-a-dozen.

Sometimes it's just the end of the line.

When Franmil comes back we will certainly get more information on that one.

I don't think anyone's holding their breath waiting for Frammil to return.

Eli Morgan is now the #1 leverage guy before Clase. Shoot i saw him hit 94 MPH on a fastball. With his command and nasty changeup this guy is a load!!

They were talking about how he came to camp in much better shape this spring.

What I observed was that he definitely hit 94 at least once but really these days he sits 92-93. He hit those on almost all fastballs.

Hitters are really having trouble squaring that ball up.

He sorta is Bieber-esque at this point. That changeup is so elite that it serves Morgan what the curve/slider/knuckle curve pitches do for Bieber.

He threw that fastball right by hitters (both for takes and swings and misses) and they were all caught in between. That's very much like Bieber.

really pretty stupid to use McCarty in a starting role. He has gradually crawled up through the farm system but has never cracked the team's top 30 or perhaps 100 list. It was nice to give him a few innings as a covid replacement player, but Peyton Battenfield who is also starting in Columbus and ranked about No. 15 of the Guardian prospects rankings makes a lot more sense. Perhaps they don't want to waste an option year on Battenfield which is reasonable but the night cap was kind of a forfeit which good relief pitching almost avoided.
