Last 3 Aprils for Joe Ramir: 305, 320, 267. Homers last 2 years: 6 and 7. He's hitting at slightly below the level he set for himself from August 15 to end of 2018. I'm glad to hear the announcers making excuses.

Knott is sideline reporter, not announcer. But him pointing out the fact he started off 0-15 and 4-34 isn't making an excuse. Just pointing out a fact. Still 19 days to go in April. Plenty of time for him to get his numbers up to previous years for the month. Unfortunately he still looks off at the plate. Don't think it's going to happen just yet.
I think TFIR is right about the shift screwing with his head. Goes back to last year when it started.

I believe the 4-34 but that was an atypical Jose April.

So, at the end of August of last season in a game against the Twins, Jose Ramirez came to the plate and the Twins used an unusual shift against him. No infielder on the left side at all. 3 infielders jammed between 1st and 2nd. And 4 outfielders. He hit a shot that ordinarily would have been a double, but instead was right at Kepler for the out.
He came into that game slashing .292/.402/.604
For the following month of September he slashed .174/.322/.315
So far this year he is slashing .154/.190..205
I don't think there is any doubt at all that the defensive shifts being used against him has had a disastarous effect.

HB - in that game I saw Jose tried twice to bunt with the left side wide open. Any good bunt at all would have been an easy hit.
And think about it, if he is on first base with his speed? Major havoc.
But Manning even commented that his bunting form was terrible. So he hit away and got out.
So yeah, to me that one at bat showed that it is in his head. He got power/extra base hit happy and now the shift is taking some of that away.
If he learns to go the other way better, and/or bunt, that all would change. But I think he's caught in between knowing what he wants to do.

I think it was the very first game this year he tried to bunt against the shift too and went foul. Don't think I've seen him try it since.

Kipnis doubled and CarGo has homered for the Clip Show. Bring them up already. Damn.

Thought?

Oh, UD sneaking in with a torpedo to the assets!
Shouldn't you be at a Charlotte game? That team needs money to make upgrades to their second rate ballpark.

I’ve been watching the Blue Jackets playoff game, and they are winning 3-0 after 2! But turned over to Tribe during second intermission. Wha wha what happened?
6-0 and Carrasco is out of the game!

We lost 8-1. Only highlight was a Naquin solo shot.

This became unwatchable early with Carrasco totally imploding.

I watched Friday night's game
at the start. Carlos' velocity was way
down from normal. 90-91 and
everything he threw was over
the plate. Batting practice was on
full display. Manning kept saying
he was fine but was questioning
that line from the club.
