Roberto Perez leads off our second with a walk, he does do that reasonably well. The magical due of Moroff and Stamets are both retired, it takes great pitching to accomplish that. And Leonys fans and that is all I plan to waste my time on today.

didn't mean to check but the app is still open on my phone now 6-1 in the 4th. That's it for Kluber. Some well rested relievers will get in some work. Olson first.

Yep, not Kluber's day. Rodon is their best starter so not the day to have an off day - needless to say especially with this early season version of an "offense" for Cleveland.

Brings to mind a Carlos Santana song from back in the day "I ain't got nobody...that I can depend on"

Rodon or no Rodon I think the Indians should be embarrassed to put this shame of a team on the field. Luplow hitting 3rd?!

Well, almost Hanley's two run 9th inning homer ends it 8-3.

If I'm not wrong I believe Santana and HRam have all but one or two of our season RBI total. Lineup depth impresses.
Carlos ends the day hitting 471. Hanley 1/2 of that and no one else among the 11 played today is above 200.
Catching tandem is hitless for the first 5 games as of course is Eric.

Neil Ramirez is preparing for his exit. He's pitched two times and allowed 2 runs both times, one of the 4 was unearned.
If by any chance Tyler Clippard were able to pitch, he'd be for Ramirez soon. Since he's not available, we'll have to turn elsewhere. I'd try Henry Martinez.

No reason to stick with Stamets; we have a month of Lindor-less shortstopping. Bring up Flaherty who just re-signed or Chang. 5 games is enough to prove he can't play in the majors.

Team average is hitting major league lowest .160. 56 K in 5 games shatters team start of the season mark of 46. Delete Sanana average is .133.
team has 5 doubles, 2 homes [both by Hanley].
Somehow this team would have good speed. They haven't even tried to steal a base.
Santana OPS 1056
Hanley OPS 904
Martin OPS 513
BAuers 481
Jose 411
Luplow 393
Miller 364
Moroff and Plawecki 200
Allen 182
Perez 154
stamets 077

I’m not like some people, I’m not going to keep harping on this and mentioning it over and over. But - -

Yandy is hitting 330, 440 OBP, 3 doubles and a homer.

Gomes hitting .308 with 2 doubles so far.

And while Gonzalez has started slow, his measly 154 is still better than Stamets 000.

Those 3 would sure have helped us so far in the early going with our injuries. And only Gomez was a cost cutting move.

Feel free to harp. The Gomes salary dump was stupid; not very much $ saved by so doing. Yandy for Bauers on early returns is a flop, but it could work out we'll see where that goes. Gonzalez would have been very handy right now and is a good solid backup while the two we got for him are awful plus we threw in an impressive young pitcher.
It is really a shame to waste a top quality starting rotation by surrounding it with a second division team.
