We win Two! Chang doubled; Mercado tripled; Moroff of all people homered. Mercado also nailed a runner at the plate. Luplow with his first hit of the spring; gets his avg up to just below his 2018 180-something with the Pirates.
Plutko blasted for 5 hits in 2 innings. Tanner Tully with 2 shutout innings for the win. Jefry Rodriguez with his own 2 shutout innings; he's my pick for surprise winner of a bullpen job.

In the other win, Bauers homered and Mark Mathias who has 16 career minor league homers hit 2!
Bieber with 2 perfect innings; Alex Wilson allowed 1 run in 1 inning for the 2nd time.

Good day for the Block Cs squads.

I'd like to see them score in the early innings when there's a semblance of major league pitching.

Pitchers concentrating on throwing strikes....no nibbling.

Bieber threw 8 pitches and faced 6 batters. One guy struck out on 3 pitches and the other 5 guys saw one pitch each.

That's impressive work -- was it a first-team lineup he faced?

Hu's starting for Cleveland today? Yes.

The rest of the lineup is amazingly uninteresting for a pennant contending team, since most of the little names are actually going to be with the big club:

Allen
Luplow
Ramirez no hits in 6 trips. I don't ST doesn't mean anything. But something was wrong in Sept and I want to know he's fixed it.
Joyce
Plawecki
Johnson
Flaherty
Stamets
Mathias

Allen lead off double; I like him and hope he wins a job. Luplow walks. The Dbacks starter is a 30 year old who's only pitched 3 games in the majors, back in 2014.

Jose's first hit of the spring scores a run.

Joyce doesn't register his first hit, but Plawecki doubles a run in.

That's it for the minor league veteran. 24 year old who's not yet reached AA relieves and retires Johnson and Flaherty.

Boo Hu. He starts with two singles and then hits a batter.

3-0 on Christian Walker who has a 2.278 ST OPS. double clears the bases and ties the score. This game will be long. I'm not staying.

I'll take it!

Matt Longo made an appearance, all you Matt Longo fans.
Ben Krauth rescued Hu in the first, all you Ben Krauth fans.

Grim outing for Grimm
Pounders really pounded the zone.
Delbert Siri joins James Karinchak as promising AA relievers who are looking bad

I think you can combine the Krauth and Longo fans all into a 1 man package of me! (well, and their family members)

In all fairness though I just root Longo on cause he is a local kid. Not like I ever predicted he would be a scary monster like Krauth.

I was an Allen fan years ago too though. I will expand that club now to 2. Actually he's probably starting to gather a following. He made some impressive defensive plays last year. Especially one night in Fenway. He was brought up before he was ready due to injuries so we have to ignore his early stats. Hopefully he can still develop like I thought he would.

He has a lifetime .380 OBP in minors. He gets on base like that in majors he could be a fine lead off guy.

With the defense he'd be a better version of Jackie Bradley Jr.
