Sheesh, last night was the Carlos Rodon show - plain and simple. Darn good pitcher.

On the plus side....Bieber!! Exciting to see what this kid could mature into.

Bauer for us today.

We still have problems against junky lefties.

Rodon is quite a bit more than that loufla. But lefties in general for sure - we can always use more righty bats.

Encarnacion on the D: with biceps strain, not expected to miss much more than the 10 day minimum.
Diaz up to take his place as DH

Tribe bats revived today - nice to see Melky bang up his old team the Chisox with a 3 run homer!

A rather stupid ending, but we won so that's all that matters. We know Otero stinks but we'd like to get more from Cimber and Cody doesn't really have to clear the bases when he enters.
Yandy keeps his average in the vicinity of 500. Too bad there's no room for him in the regular lineup!

Humbug. We have so much outfield troubles, put him at 3B, move Josey to 2B and put Kip back in CF.

In an ideal world, Yandy hits homer in Cinci RF bleachers and Alonso hits 2.

Miller is in. 1st pitch 91 MPH fastball. Ugh.

2nd pitch 93 MPH fastball. Better, but still ugh.

3rd pitch, 94 MPH fastball. OK, maybe warming up.

Miller K'd first batter, a lefty, on nasty slider. But hung 2 sliders to next 2 batters and they both hit it hard. Double and single. Both righties.

Votto flies out on 93 MPH fastball.

First pitch to next batter 94.

Second pitch 95.

94

(all fastballs so far to this righty)

Finally a slider, ground out.

OK, he touched 95 once. Still not the 97/98 he was when he was almost unhittable a couple years ago but getting better. He has been 92/93 most of time this year. So I'm feeling a little better. Maybe will be 100% by October.

Oh my, Reds put a position player in to pitch the 9th. He threw Jose a 66 MPH knuckle ball for a strike. He looked back at the ump as if to say, what in the hell was that? He snuck a 74 MPH fastball by him for strike next pitch. Then 3rd pitch was another knuckler, Jose swung out of his shoes at it and missed. The bat went flying and Jose ended up on the ground.

He is going to hear about that for quite a while!!

Are the Reds really this bad?
