We ended a very long win streak for Pirates. Man, they were hot coming in. But you're only as hot as that days pitcher, and Bauer cooled them off.
Well, I can finally go to bed. I couldn't leave this game. It had been a few days since I saw a win.

By the way, a little tidbit on Hb's new favorite reliever name:
Saturday, the Rangers’ Austin Bibens-Dirkx became the first reliever to allow 11 runs in a game since Vin Mazzaro gave up 14 on May 16, 2011, confirmed by @EliasSports.

I often wonder if I had come of age in the internet era if I'd have become a baseball stats professional. As a kid I kept notebooks of numbers which would be obsolete in the modern age. Actually I doubt I would have stayed in that line of work for long; even sports writing seemed like a juvenile pursuit after engaging in it in college. And my wife would not have put up with me if that were my career.

Instead of focusing on a masher, we have a lot of home runs this year, we should be focusing on a high OBP guy to score ahead of all those home runs we are hitting.

Indians placed OF Tyler Naquin on the 10-day disabled list with a right hip strain, retroactive to July 26.
Naquin was a late scratch Friday due to hip discomfort, and it was serious enough that the team will be without him for at least the next 10 days. Pitcher Adam Plutko was recalled to take Naquin's roster spot, with the expectation that the team will recall outfielder Greg Allen once he's eligible to be summoned. Naquin is hitting .264/.295/.356 in 61 games this year.

I thought the 10 day in the minors was waived trading an outfielder for an injured outfielder
