By the way loufla - it's on Bieber's birthday too. I mean really, this is scripted isn't it?

Perhaps a little too long with Bieber, looked great, and unfortunately they got to our bullpen.

No problem they did it on purpose so Frankie could be hero again.

Boy am I fed up with these ridiculous 9-8 wins. Otero and McAllister have been blowing leads all season. Neither was good enough for the postseason roster so it's not like their performances have been a big surprise. They should both be DFAD ASAP. Although there's no one available who's any better at least an alternative dreadful would be something different.

As for Beliveau, when they ship him down again after proving he cannot retire major league lefties at all, please DO NOT re-sign him when he miraculously clears waivers. Let him hook on with a team in the Atlantic League or another independent league or perhaps Taiwan. The farther away from Cleveland the better --- out of sight, out of mind.

I wouldn't DFA McAllister.

Look, from what I have heard from ex players and managers bullpen roles can be tricky. I guess we all know that now.

Otero, McAllister, Goody (even Olson) - they were all effective last year in their roles. But their roles were low leverage as Allen, Miller and yes SHAW took on the higher stress and leverage situations.

So what we need is a VERY good reliever (or 2 of course) to bump those guys back down to their former roles. They were fine there.

To defend the front office (and Tito) for a second - they probably wanted to see who could step up to higher roles before they went out on a limb and acquired someone. They did that - oh - and none of them did. In addition Miller hasn't been healthy/effective so it made it all the worse.

That said the front office also knew we had a ton of games vs Twins, Chisox, Detroit, Kansas City which gave us a buffer.

And indeed it is working out that way.

So I give them some time. They are doubtless every bit as stressed about it as the fans are. But certainly no one wants them to rush and panic and do something dumb when it's realistically unnecessary at this point.

Super frustrating yes. Necessary right now - no.

Mc maybe. Otero no. He was good 2 years ago; fair last year; bad in spring training with zero pressure; no better in regular games.

Highlight of last night's game is Carrasco trending down lately...

Carrasco's Game Score for last night's game was 22. That's in the "stinker" category.

Carrasco would currently be rated our 6th most effective starter. Do we have a pitching coach who can help work himself back to himself?

Zimmer in today.

Zimmer and Allen both in today. Allen in RF, and interestingly enough, batting 6th, ahead of Kipnis, Perez and Zimmer.

Impressive: Tito likes his style, and apparently his bat, too.

Today Bauer's turn to melt down.

And shut down by Lance Lynn. Oh well.

It certainly looked good early on, with Lynn about to implode in the 3rd inning. Allen had a solid at bat, stretching the count to full, fouling off a bunch, but after his fly out the offense rested for the day.
