Yes HB - good power to right (center) on the homer.

He's been such a disappointment since his good year a few years back that it's been hard for me to enjoy how good he is defensively. And he IS GOOD.

Not to be a negative Nellie but his strikeout rate is still a bit out of control. But good steps overall.

he and Roberto both had great RBI Augusts and Septembers last season

Risking the 9 run lead going to the pen in the 9th

Said it before we thought it was bullshit that Lucroy didn't accept the trade fearing that he'd be moved from catcher at some point.

Seems he knew more than I did.

Carrasco working on his 3rd stinker in his last 4 starts, against the Tigers??

Brandon Guyer just struck out with runners on 2nd and 3rd. He has not been clutch at all lately. He is 2 for his last 21 with 0 RBI. And every time he's come up in big situation of late he has disappointed. Not sure I wouldn't prefer Davius on bench when Melky and Chiz return. He hasn't been hitting either but least he can play CF.

Allen tripled and scored in 9th, which should have been tying run, but they decided to trot McCallister out there in 8th and he gave up a 3 run homer, so we lose by 3.

DFA that bum already.

So, with about 1 quarter of the season in the books, Tribe sits there at 20-20.

Got to pick up the pace.

No fault with "Babe" Ramirez who is on pace for 50+ HRs.

civ - this did not turn out to be a stinker at all.

3 runs in 6 and 2/3 and he left in the 7th with his team very much in the game.

Obviously not like his last outing but on an off day if you can still battle and totally give your team a shot to win then that's a really good sign.

Our top 4 starters are really unique in this league and that's what will take us through the cold spells. They are not only good but they eat up a lot of innings in an era where going 5 or 6 is the norm

I know you're right, TFIR. His final stats were not that bad. But he was not good yesterday. He was working very slow and nibbling to the point that after one of the innings, Michael Brantley, of all people, came into the dugout and got on him.

Brantley does not do that. And it worked. He was much better his last 2 or 3 innings.

Cookie can be so overwhelming that I am disappointed when he gives up as many as 3 runs and throws too many pitches and makes us turn things over to that underwhelming bullpen.

Tomlin vs. Liriano today. Yesterday's matchup looked great and worked out badly; perhaps today's which looks bad will turn out OK

Granted but in the context (big picture) that's what makes the best guys better. Kluber lately is a great example.

Unlike an average guy, on their off days they are still pretty good.

Starters will tell you it is rare when it all works. Carrasco had that last time. But it's rare.

He did his part and that game was totally winnable.

And we have 4 guys like that which is very rare in MLB.

Guyer grand slam after a bunch of walks gives Tomlin 4 run lead. Any chance he can hold it?
One batter into the bottom of the 1st the lead is 3. Tomlin's HR total now equals his Strikeout total.
Need to ask one of those stat services to find the last time a pitcher accomplished that.
